12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Sacramento. Fairly thin, disappearing head, nice bitterness. Bonus point for the renewable power stamp.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Deep orange, looks like a thick IPA. Pinky finger of white head, lacing will occur. Nose is very fresh with a strong presence of esters, for some reason I think of a sugary apple. Taste is fruity and slightly malty up front; this is accompanied by a lasting, yet somewhat mellowed, bitterness. Mouthfeel is slightly thick like I predicted; sweet with very little carbonation. Good brew, would like to see a better malt backbone though.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep straw with slightly fluffy white head. Light hippy aroma, too light to pick out maybe a bit grassy. Flavor is a decent hop profile that lingers throughout to the finish. Not bad

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from the bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a semi-cloudy amber color with an average sized foamy white head with good cling and lacing. The aroma featured citrus hops, with touches of pine and straw, and a very light malt presence. Its taste had a bitter citrus flavor with a grainy component, and a slight sourness as well. It was a very dry beer with average carbonation to go with a full body and mouthfeel.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2014 Amazingly outstanding IPA! Hop Notch pours a very dark golden color with a beautiful off-white, cascading head. The nose is very inviting, with notes of spicy and floral hops, pine, grass, sweet malts and a touch of lemon. The flavors are very well-balanced and delicious, and the body is smooth, creamy and extremely drinkable. This is one of those IPA’s that I could sit hang with all night. Notes from the flavor include dry hops, grass, lightly toasted bread, grapefruit, lemon, pine and a touch of sweet malt. The finish is dry and spicy.
