Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. Itís balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

Ratebeer #1,000 woo! Draft sample at Cherry Blossom Beer & Wine fest, clear golden-amber color with off-white head. Aroma notes of strong citrus/pine hops, tropical dankness, somewhat earthy balanced with caramel malt sweetness. Taste carries on the hop punch of the nose; grapefruit, resin, herbal and almost putrid earthiness balanced with malt graininess. Medium body, low-moderate carbonation, oily, dry with long lingering fruity/earthy hop bitterness. Very tasty.

Can - Pours amber with a foamy off-white head. Nose is pine, grapefruit, and dank onion hoppiness. Lots of malt too--itís pretty bready and a little sweet. Taste is the same--a pine/citrus/onion hop mix, lots of bready malt, and a bit of boozy astringency that I really hate in IPAs. Medium-bodied and oily, with gentle carbonation. Too bready and boozy for my tastes.

Very good IPA. Pours a clear gold-copper, with smallish head. Strong aroma of hops, citrus. Very bitter flavor, pronounced hops, lots of citrus, with pine and grass. Crisp, clean mouthfeel with bitter finish.

12oz can pours a clear copper with a large off-white head. Sweet malt and citrus hop aroma with slight pine. Solid caramel malt flavor with pine and citrus hops supporting, a light bitterness with some toffee on the finish. Pretty nice IPA.

Sampled at SBWF 2013. Semi lasting beige head. Almost clear golden color. Balanced aroma of both hops and a medium caramell malt. Big and fresh hop taste that is balanced by a smooth caramell. Also a balanced bitterness to give a fine IPA.

Poured from my home keg from Argonaut. Pours amber gold with large head in a Scotch Silly chalice. Aroma of light malt sweetness, grains, hops and citrus. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of rich malts, grains, straw hops, hay, earth, minerals. Overall rich, flavorful, and decent enough for multiple pours!

Lucky that one bottle in the outdated sixer I got wasnít completely ruined. Enough I could get the resiny grapefruit nose, the fruity-citrus hop flavors and rounded honey-sweet caramel presence. While Iíd still like to have a fresh one, I feel comfortable rating this when comparing my notes to others.

Mild pine and citrus aroma. Flavor packs more of a punch, but feels light enough to session. Bitterness balanced by refreshing citrus. ABV well-hidden; malts are further in the background. Hop-forward, but also surprisingly refreshing due to the fruit and somewhat lighter body. Good carbonation also. Above-average IPA, all things considered.
