Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

On draught at 1702. Pours a mostly clear orange-amber color with a fluffy off-white head. Aroma is citrusy, tropical fruits and some resin. Taste has a nice sweet malt backbone with dry bitterness. Medium bodied and oily. Bone dry finish. Pretty good and super bitter.

Pours a deep golden-approaching-amber color. Aggressive bottle pour yielded a 2-inch head that slowly dissipated, left a nice lacing on the glass. Disappointed in the aroma, guess I’ve been spoiled by the floral aromas of competing IPAs. Solid bitterness, but not balanced entirely right with the malts. A good beer, but not one of my faves and IPAs are one of my favorite styles. Something missing in the malt complexity, so it’s a little too hoppy. Won’t be plunking down cash for another sixer of this too soon.

Nice big hoppy aroma when the cap is popped. Primarily a peppery bitterness that lingers for a bit before departing. I was halfway done before I’d even realized it.

355ml bottle. Pours a pale gold, white head. Hoppy, resiny aroma, grapefruit, apricot, spruce, quite spicy, dried fruits, yeast, caramel. Off-dry, medium body, high bitterness, balanced CO2. Fruity, hoppy taste, grapefruit peel, spruce, pine resin, apricots, caramel, rather floral and spicy. Nice. (2012-05-13)

Pours a light amber with about a finger of off-white head. Aroma is sweet citrus hops. Taste is slightly bitter but not overly hopped. Good easy drinking IPA with a serious ABV. Good stuff.

Pours amber wth medium white head Very hoppy aromas of citrusy fruits and caramel malts. Nice! Mmm. Palate is low sweetness with medium bitter ending. Its a bit frizzy, has nice citrusy tones. Well balanced from start to end. Not as hoppy in taste as in aromas but overall id say this is top notch!

12 ounce bottle purchased from Bel Air in Woodland, CA. Bottled on 04/09/12. The aroma is of subtle earthy, and moderately grassy hop aromas. Some Crystal maltiness is also present in the background. Fairly subdued nose that is rather pedestrian. Transparent copper colored body with a medium off-yellow head present. Decent lacing. Starts with a little earthy hoppy flavors, before this becomes a little metallic and slightly grainy with maltiness in the middle. Finishes with a little more metallic and herbal hops. Not very bitter, and the ethanol is hidden well. A well-made IPA, that is solid, but nothing spectacular. Easy drinking.

Well well well.....on tap at the local steak house. Served in an NON icy glass...the world must be ending. medium piney nose. Hop bite is flower in body and soft. A lovely deep amber in the glass. A solid IPA which is neither in your face with hops or a watery excuse for an IPA. I had two. Alcohol sneaks up on you in the parking lot.
