Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

12 oz bottle. BB 10/03/14. From a kiosk in Portland, OR.
Hazy orangey golden color with a small white head. Citrusy hops, lemon, mild bitterness and dry grainy malt in the aroma. The flavor is... old hops... shit... I didn’t check the BB date before buying... There’s old hops, mild bitterness and dryness in the flavor. Needs a rerate.
And the rerate is coming much sooner than I thought...
12 oz can. BB 1/8/16. (Beermongers) Portland, OR.
Deep golden color with a small white head. Citrusy and piney hops, some bitterness and dryness in the aroma. The flavor is... fresh... citrusy and piney hops, moderate bitterness... Tasty.

Had it in tap. Pours beautifully clear and copper with a thick head. The aroma is a mix of malt/citrus & hop, but weak. The taste is of a smooth hop malt IPA, I could use a little more punch for the effort.

I usually struggle to find the enjoyment in a lot of mainstream IPAs, or at least, I struggle find the enjoyment through all aspects and to the bottom of the bottle. But this one did it. Not at all bitter, just highly flavorful, with a delightfully balanced sweetness. Easy drinking. Highly compelling with the right food; in my case, a spicy squash and chickpea stew. Bottle.

Many thanks to Chris for this can! Great intense floral nose. The beer starts extreme piney and hoppy. Intense viscous-floral. Tons of fresh hops on a malty-sweetish body. Moderate bitterness. Intense sweetish hoppy aftertaste - probably a bit too sweetish. Lots of floral piney hops. Intense viscous piney aftertaste. Great!

Bottle to tulip. Appearance is cloudy burnt orange with a thick off white head that shrinks to nothing and leaves ok lacing. Aroma is pine resin, grapefruit, sweet citrus, and dry biscuit. Taste is big on citrus up front. Lots of grapefruit, pine, and orange dominate the beer. There is a bit of caramel in the back. Mouthfeel is creamy throughout most of the beer with a dry finish. Good ipa.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2015 Keg pour at Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival. Aroma is mix of yeast, corn chip, with citrusy/floral hops. Appearance is clear, golden pour, with nice sparkle and 1 finger width foamy white head with nice lacing. Taste is balance of moderately sweet and bitter with corn chip. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with creamy texture, average carbonation and long finish with mild bitterness. Overall, a lot to like with some complexity.
