COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

12 oz bottle, Whole Foods Columbus. Copper-amber pour, lovely thick pillowy white head dissipates into a medium ring and retains gobs of lacing down the glass. Aroma exhibits lots of pine and citrus, bready. Flavor grassy, caramel, sharply bitter. Mouthfeel is medium, creamy, almost silky; nice. I don’t think the malt -quite- stands up to the hops here and so I think this is a nice beer but I don’t find the balance to be quite right. Tasty, though.

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 5-17-15. Listed as “Best before 06/16/15.” Pours a clear, dark brass with a moderate to large amount of cream-colored head. Good head, pleasant color, but not an outstanding appearance of the liquid. Good, long-lasting, extensive lacing raises the appearance score from a 3 to a 4. Light, pungent, citric, herbal, hoppy aroma. Slightly metallic smell. The aroma is a bit lighter than I would prefer, but, in fairness, the aromatic hops likely have faded over the last couple of months. Dry, vegetal flavor. A touch of dirt in the taste. Perhaps a bit briny. Notably dry finish. Solid IPA overall, but it’s not much above average for the style if at all. Dry aftertaste. Soft in the palate. Reasonably lively. Quite nice palate effects, nearly earning a 4 instead of a 3 in palate score.

RSRIZZO (1882) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAY 24, 2015
12oz bottle poured into a shaker at 42°. Color is a deep gold with a slight haze. Carbonation is good giving a small white head that’s a bit loose on the edge and very tight in the center. Aroma is a light pine and citrus scent peaking out of a sweet caramel malt base. It has a medium body with a light crisp mouth feel. Flavor comes in with citrus and a touch of pine, then a mellow malt shows on the back end giving it a faint fruit note. After taste is bitter letting the citrus build up and hang on. Overall its a nice IPA, evenly balanced and easy to drink but not as complex and bold as the brewer claims it to be.

Brilliant apricot. Citrusy piney aroma. Taste- biscuity malt and slightly resinous, tropical fruit and citrus flavors. Nicely balanced. Solid IPA. I'd buy it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear yellow amber with a slight haze. Minimal head and effervescent with sticky lacing. Nice bitterness comes through mid way. Decent palate. Grapefruit, burnt finish. BB: 6/17/15 Consumed on: 5/14/15. 12oz bottle gifted from friends for Bday

tectactoe (3080) - Michigan, USA - MAY 13, 2015
UPDATED: MAY 14, 2015 Bottle: Semi-golden, light amber color with a very small amount of haze to it. Off-white, eggshell cap recedes over the course of a few minutes. Hop heavy aroma; dense pine resin, very dank & oily with grapefruit, citrus, & white pepper in the periphery. Flavor loaded with pine needles & pine sap. Resinous, loaded with hop oils, & quite pungent. White pepper, grapefruit, mild pineapple, pear, & an earthy, bitter finish. Mouth feel gets a bit watery at times. Decent IPA.

This IPA unlike other has more of a malty dominance than the bitter emcee that is usually associated with the style. Rich malt and mild soapy flavor. Just the right amount of strength ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a nice amber color with an aroma of citrus and resin. There’s a hint of caramel but grapefruit and a hop stickiness dominate. Good mouth feel. I’d drink it again.
