COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

Bottled. Pours a cloudy gold. Mellow, but slightly spicy hop aroma, with hints of citrus. Flavor is very balanced up front, citrus, light fruit and sweet, bready malt mingling together, followed by a dry burst of pine. Bitter, alcoholic kick of a finish that lingers for a good while. Oily mouthfeel, light to medium bodied. Overall, a quite nice IPA, but a little rough around the edges.

Pours a hazy bronze. Nose has grapefruit and honey. Taste is a hop explosion with a bitter front with grapefruit running the show and a slight hint of lemon. It has a big malty finish with a slightly sweet and tart linger. One of my favorite IPAs, but definitely a hop-forward selection.

355 mL bottle. Mostly citrus (orange) in the nose. Nice. Not super strong though. Flavour isn’t super strong, but it’s pleasant. Pineapple and grapefruit. Not much from the malt. Okay bitterness. Decent IPA, nothing spectacular.

Really great flavor. Surprising for a beer from Utah. The beer smells good too. Hard to drink just one.

Pours orange with a lasting white head and lots of lacing. Melon, pine and mineral aroma. Taste is dry with mineral and chalk notes. Bitter grapefruit rind as well. Finish is dry and bitter.

Transfer from BA review on 9-16-12- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – Served an orange-amber colored brew with a one finger white head. The head has fairly good retention, eventually fading to give a nice level of lacing. Smell – The aroma is a nice abundance of sweet citrus and some lighter tropical fruit as well as more bitter hop smells of a grapefruit and pine nature. Taste – The taste begins with a strong bready base with some light caramel sweetness and a mild grapefruit hop bitterness. As the taste advances further the caramel is lost to lighter fruit flavors in nature. While this occurs so to does the citrus grapefruit bitterness increases. As time advances however the grapefruit hop flavor gives way to a piney hop flavor, which at the end of the taste, leaves a bitter yet fairly balanced flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly creamier side with the carbonation level being below average and light. The combination of the two overall, gave it more of a cask beer feel, which was nice for the hoppy and malty flavors of the brew. Overall – A pretty nice IPA with a good balance between breadiness, sweetness, and hop. Well worth a try.

Very light aroma, very grassy citrus notes emanating from this orange and hazy liquid. Softly persistent white head leaves a trailing on the glass, wet and not sticky at all. The first swallow is only bitter and unappealing; not much that’s desirable about the taste. The afterward is lengthy and harsh. The second, third and fourth tastes get better as you get deeper, but never actually become pleasant. Not a fan of this brew enjoyed two months before the ’best before’ date. Probably won’t try this again.
