3.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
If they made beer cologne – and if they don’t they should – this wouldn’t be a bad place to start.
STYLE: American IPA
LOOK: Creamy head sits nicely atop a surprisingly clear amber, more vinegar than oil. Slow but persistent carbonation up the gut. I can tell already, the lacing, it’s there.
NOSE: Classic West Coast IPA. Sugared grapefruit right away. Also orange. Also pineapple. And also nectarines. There’s a wonderful little piney note, like if you took a citrus cocktail and stirred it with just a needle or two. Tempting and coy.
MOUTH: It can’t replicate the nose, and that’s a shame because I had orgasmic hopes for a mouth parade. What I need here is some sweet honey tang and something that sticks in my gums for a minute. This, I’m afraid, is too light to be excellent. But not to get too caught up in the negatives, because there are some, let’s cover the positives. Because there are just as many. Sharper pine without being overwhelming. Clever bitterness. And a nice malty gulp.

Hoppy but not at all astringent. I liked it. Nose is great for a hoppy ipa.

Amber color. Sweet malt and hop initial sips. High alc is masked by big malt sweetness. Slightly grapefruity and chewy. Not the first ipa I would reach for, but definitely if I was to recommend a sweet brew. With high hop content.

Interesting, another Utah beer. For years never had one, then went to Utah and got some, and ever since I’ve been seeing Utah beers finally get imported to NY. Nose is nice - flowers + grapefruit. Silky fruity mouthfeel. Very dry hoppy finish, also noticed tropical notes in the palate.

Grabbed a six pack from the local liquor store ($10+) but it was oh so worth it....
Color: Beer was golden/amber in color and looked like apple juice.
Clarity: Beer had normal clarity and not much cloudiness.
Head: Beer had nice head retention, about the size of my pinky fingernail.
Aroma: Beer smelled so good! I really enjoyed the fruity aromas like citrus, pineapple, mango and topical fruit notes. There was also a strong hoppy presence and a pine smell. It was quite refreshing.
Bouquet: Beer had hints of fruity hops and toasted malts. There was also a hint of caramel that really came together nicely.
Off Odors: no off odors noticed, just a strong hoppy smell.
Balance & Flavor: I thought the beer was very well balanced and not to overwhelming in any area. The tropical fruity notes and strong hops produced an excellent beer.
Off Flavors: No off flabors noticed. The beer was just a little bitter but not too bad.
Mouth-feel/Body: Beer was light-bodied and had a soft mouth-feel. Once the beer hits your lips, it’s so good! Very easy to drink.
Tail: Beer had a nice tail that coated your throat but didn’t stay longer than necessary.
Carbonation: Not too carbonated- just right
Overall, this beer has a great flavor and can easily be a picnic or lawn mower beer. The refreshing taste makes it great for spring and summer!

Bottle. Light amber body. Frothy off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, resin, toasted grain. Hint of tropical fruit. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The usual resin and grapefruit hop flavors, but some sweetness help balance those along with some fruit flavors.

Nice golden with a solid quilt of fine creamy foam. Smells classic west coast: resin, weed, pine, grapefruit and BO. Nice nose. Flavor is up front bitter with a malty (crackers, biscuit and some sweet english crystals) backbone. There is a good resin bitterness with a spicy flavor and some good midpoint purple kush. Medium on nearly full bodied with fine, moderated carb and a watery finish. Nice beer. I probably won’t go out of my way for this one, but would drink on tap locally, particularly with a good spicy meal or pizza.

Deep gold-light copper, clear, off white head. Aroma of piney hops, biscuity malt. Flavor: grainy/biscuity malt, piney-resiny hops with mild citrus, clean and crisp with a little lingering bitterness in the finish. Refreshing and well- made.
