If they made beer cologne Ė and if they donít they should Ė this wouldnít be a bad place to start.
STYLE: American IPA
LOOK: Creamy head sits nicely atop a surprisingly clear amber, more vinegar than oil. Slow but persistent carbonation up the gut. I can tell already, the lacing, itís there.
NOSE: Classic West Coast IPA. Sugared grapefruit right away. Also orange. Also pineapple. And also nectarines. Thereís a wonderful little piney note, like if you took a citrus cocktail and stirred it with just a needle or two. Tempting and coy.
MOUTH: It canít replicate the nose, and thatís a shame because I had orgasmic hopes for a mouth parade. What I need here is some sweet honey tang and something that sticks in my gums for a minute. This, Iím afraid, is too light to be excellent. But not to get too caught up in the negatives, because there are some, letís cover the positives. Because there are just as many. Sharper pine without being overwhelming. Clever bitterness. And a nice malty gulp.

Amber color and thick with citrus hops. This is an excellent IPA and with lots of malts for that high ABV then overly hopped to keep it bitter. Only complaint is that slight metalic aftertaste. Many say the can doesnít cause that but when putting this high acidic brew in a can I sitll say it creates a metallic taste. Sad to see so many brewers going the way of the can.

Nice aroma of hops, citrus, and pine. Nice deep yellow color with a whiteish tan head. Great balance of flavors up front. Sweet malt and palatable bitterness from the hops. Balanced. Finishes smooth with an aftertaste that lingers. Very good.

On tap at my local hang out. Sold as Hop Notch, but apparently its the same thing. Served in a shaker pint. Poured orange with a slight haze and a one finger white head. Good amount of lace. Heavy pine resin and grapefruit aroma. Taste also features a good amount of sharp hop bite. Mostly pine and citrus. Malts are there, but theyíre hiding under the bed, in fear of their lives. Full in the mouth with a resinous coating on the tongue. Finish is quite bitter. Been drinking a lot of this lately.

Draft at Momo's. Hazy copper pour with a frothy white head. Dank, pine and citrusy hops fill the nose with mild bread malts in the background. Sweetish, smooth entry with sticky tropical and dank hops ending with a prickly bitter ending. Not bad at all.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of citrus and pine hops with some earthy notes. Flavor is strong of the citrus hops up front that leads to the floral hops and caramel malts. Decent bitter finish as well.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
1- Low pine aroma, faint toasty malt
2- Dark straw to light orange with a few rising bubbles. Small clingy white head and crystal clear.
3- Assertive bitterness with a big supporting hop flavor. Piney. A light toasty sweetness creeps in.
4- Medium body with a good dose of carbonation. A low level of astringency in the aftertaste.
5- A tasty beer. I would have liked a bigger hop aroma (not dry hopped)?.
