3.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
If they made beer cologne Ė and if they donít they should Ė this wouldnít be a bad place to start.
STYLE: American IPA
LOOK: Creamy head sits nicely atop a surprisingly clear amber, more vinegar than oil. Slow but persistent carbonation up the gut. I can tell already, the lacing, itís there.
NOSE: Classic West Coast IPA. Sugared grapefruit right away. Also orange. Also pineapple. And also nectarines. Thereís a wonderful little piney note, like if you took a citrus cocktail and stirred it with just a needle or two. Tempting and coy.
MOUTH: It canít replicate the nose, and thatís a shame because I had orgasmic hopes for a mouth parade. What I need here is some sweet honey tang and something that sticks in my gums for a minute. This, Iím afraid, is too light to be excellent. But not to get too caught up in the negatives, because there are some, letís cover the positives. Because there are just as many. Sharper pine without being overwhelming. Clever bitterness. And a nice malty gulp.

Bottle. Pours partly clear orange brown with off white head. Nose and taste is citrus and pineapple bitterness with some sugary sweetness. Tastes like a double IPA.

Pours a murky copper with a huge off-white head, Fresh scent - cut grass with hints of citrus. Taste is average. Malt back, slightly burnt. Tingles on the tongue. Hop presence, but nothing too stanidng out. Not too citrusy, not too piney. Just hops and malt. Overall, I am just not impressed. Doesnít seem complex like the deScription.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper, huge white head, lots of lacing. Nose is sweet caramel and citrus, some pine too. Tastes sweet, a little bitter, gives way to caramel. Really nice and balanced.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is a good IPA with plenty of caramel-malty flavor and the right amount of hops, not overly bitter easy to drink would recommend.

Cool brewery idea, using solar energy to brew beer! Body is a little heavy but taste and hoppy aroma make up for it.

12 oz bottle. BB 10/03/14. From a kiosk in Portland, OR.
Hazy orangey golden color with a small white head.
Citrusy hops, lemon, mild bitterness and dry grainy malt in the aroma.
The flavor is... old hops... shit... I didnít check the BB date before buying... Thereís old hops, mild bitterness and dryness in the flavor. Needs a rerate.
And the rerate is coming much sooner than I thought...
12 oz can. BB 1/8/16. (Beermongers) Portland, OR.
Deep golden color with a small white head.
Citrusy and piney hops, some bitterness and dryness in the aroma.
The flavor is... fresh... citrusy and piney hops, moderate bitterness... Tasty.

Had it in tap. Pours beautifully clear and copper with a thick head. The aroma is a mix of malt/citrus & hop, but weak. The taste is of a smooth hop malt IPA, I could use a little more punch for the effort.

I usually struggle to find the enjoyment in a lot of mainstream IPAs, or at least, I struggle find the enjoyment through all aspects and to the bottom of the bottle. But this one did it. Not at all bitter, just highly flavorful, with a delightfully balanced sweetness. Easy drinking. Highly compelling with the right food; in my case, a spicy squash and chickpea stew. Bottle.

Many thanks to Chris for this can! Great intense floral nose. The beer starts extreme piney and hoppy. Intense viscous-floral. Tons of fresh hops on a malty-sweetish body. Moderate bitterness. Intense sweetish hoppy aftertaste - probably a bit too sweetish. Lots of floral piney hops. Intense viscous piney aftertaste. Great!
