COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

Pine and caramel malts on the nose, pours a clear light amber with a full white head. Nice clean hop flavor, with a good balance. Slightly slick mouthfeel, nice lingering hop finish. If you’re a fan of the more balanced IPA’s, then this would be one to pick up.

Draft pour dark gold with orange hue and moderate white head. Nose good pine, resin, floral hop. Taste moderate bitter up front, then floral and papaya. Later palate light dank hop. Lighter bitter finish. Nice nose and reasonable flavor.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2014 12 oz bottle This was purchased at The Caboose in Ashland, VA. The ale poured a hazy orange. There was a nice head and frothy white head with lacing down the glass. . There is a strong apricot taste . There is nice floral taste that is detected at the finish. This is excellent IPA great appearance and the apricots make this a unique ale. The carbonation is average but creates a nice head. This is a winner with a nice dry finish that has you coming back for more.

12oz bottle, really good, welcome Uinta to Ohio. an interesting mix of pine and citrus flavors is a very good way to put it, even the grass is apparent.. solid IPA that varies from the onslaught of Citra and Galaxy I’m diggin it.

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 5-17-15. Listed as “Best before 06/16/15.” Pours a clear, dark brass with a moderate to large amount of cream-colored head. Good head, pleasant color, but not an outstanding appearance of the liquid. Good, long-lasting, extensive lacing raises the appearance score from a 3 to a 4. Light, pungent, citric, herbal, hoppy aroma. Slightly metallic smell. The aroma is a bit lighter than I would prefer, but, in fairness, the aromatic hops likely have faded over the last couple of months. Dry, vegetal flavor. A touch of dirt in the taste. Perhaps a bit briny. Notably dry finish. Solid IPA overall, but it’s not much above average for the style if at all. Dry aftertaste. Soft in the palate. Reasonably lively. Quite nice palate effects, nearly earning a 4 instead of a 3 in palate score.

On tap at Taco Mac. Pours copper with a small head. The aroma is caramel, orange rinds, and some earthy notes. The flavor is pleasantly bitter, with a good malt backbone. The palate is light to medium and uneventful. This is a good IPA, but doesn’t really stand out.

Beaver (1443) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - DEC 24, 2011
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a big fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is bready malts, some tangy melon and some dank, resiny, piney hops.

The flavor is a little sweet fruit with a big resiny almost charred bitterness. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and a little watery.

Overall, a pretty solid IPA. A little more sweet fruit and less char in the flavor to better balance it and a little more body and this would be excellent.

lamas (1439) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 2, 2013
Bottle. Best before: 04/20/13. A clear amber pour with a smallish beige head. A fine aroma of juicy oranges, grapefruits, faint pineapple, caramel, and pine trees. Relatively medium-bodied on the way down. Caramel, a light biscuity presence, and some hints of buttered bread upfront taste-wise. Grapefruits, oranges, and zesty citrus rinds are plentiful towards the end. The alcohol is well-hidden. Nicely balanced. Well-done. A standard for the style.

Bottle. Aroma of tropical fruit, resin, and pine. Slight vegetable notes too. Taste of resin and peach, fairly bitter. Good body.
