3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Found as "Hop Notch IPA" in Williston, VT. - Draft - Poured a nice orangish-amber in color with a small white head. Nice hoppy aroma... piney with citrus. Flavor was citrus/lemon with some pine resin that lingered. Medium dry, bitter finish. Liked it!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Knotty, piney, resinous aroma indicates a strong, bitter IPA. Glowing hazy orange does not contradict that prediction. Flatly bitter with a good malt contrast that tries very hard to balance the beer out. A solid IPA headin towards the heavy extreme.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a nice clean orange color with a modest, dense white head atop it. Hopes can be smelled as soon as you pour it in the glass. Huge citrus notes - lots of grapefruit acidity and orange sweetness, light caramel malt late in the nose but the hops really dominates it. Strong grapefruit up front with a nice pine middle and a sweet orange citrus finish. Body is modest with low carbonation. Overall a very tasty brew. I wish there were just a tad bit more carbonation to deliver a slight bite to compliment the grapefruit and pine notes.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
THOUGHTS: Lots of hops but lots of balance, too. Nice malt backbone, but still lots and lots of hops. But the hops are never overwhelming. Rather complex hop profile.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, medium to dark, brownish orange with great carbonation and and average, off-white head that kept a nice sheet and left excellent lacing. The aroma had light to moderate caramel malt; moderate to heavy pine, resin, grapefruit and orange hops; and mango. The initial flavor was slight to lightly sweet and light to moderately bitter; while the finish was light to moderately sweet and moderate to nearly heavily bitter. There was caramel malt, orange hops, grapefruit hops, resinous hops, pine hops, and a little tropical fruit hops. The medium body was a little oily and then dry with lightly fizzy carbonation and a slightly metallic finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Well well well.....on tap at the local steak house. Served in an NON icy glass...the world must be ending. medium piney nose. Hop bite is flower in body and soft. A lovely deep amber in the glass. A solid IPA which is neither in your face with hops or a watery excuse for an IPA. I had two. Alcohol sneaks up on you in the parking lot.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pine and caramel malts on the nose, pours a clear light amber with a full white head. Nice clean hop flavor, with a good balance. Slightly slick mouthfeel, nice lingering hop finish. If you’re a fan of the more balanced IPA’s, then this would be one to pick up.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle, consumed on 5-17-15. Listed as “Best before 06/16/15.” Pours a clear, dark brass with a moderate to large amount of cream-colored head. Good head, pleasant color, but not an outstanding appearance of the liquid. Good, long-lasting, extensive lacing raises the appearance score from a 3 to a 4. Light, pungent, citric, herbal, hoppy aroma. Slightly metallic smell. The aroma is a bit lighter than I would prefer, but, in fairness, the aromatic hops likely have faded over the last couple of months. Dry, vegetal flavor. A touch of dirt in the taste. Perhaps a bit briny. Notably dry finish. Solid IPA overall, but it’s not much above average for the style if at all. Dry aftertaste. Soft in the palate. Reasonably lively. Quite nice palate effects, nearly earning a 4 instead of a 3 in palate score.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2014 12 oz bottle This was purchased at The Caboose in Ashland, VA. The ale poured a hazy orange. There was a nice head and frothy white head with lacing down the glass. . There is a strong apricot taste . There is nice floral taste that is detected at the finish. This is excellent IPA great appearance and the apricots make this a unique ale. The carbonation is average but creates a nice head. This is a winner with a nice dry finish that has you coming back for more.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Taco Mac. Pours copper with a small head. The aroma is caramel, orange rinds, and some earthy notes. The flavor is pleasantly bitter, with a good malt backbone. The palate is light to medium and uneventful. This is a good IPA, but doesn’t really stand out.
