COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

A shared 12oz bottle. Best by 4/18/13. Clear orange - yellow color. Real thin off-white head, decent lace. Nice resiny, pine nose. Nice lighter carbonation - very dry texture. Caramel malts, but a good big bitter hoppiness too. Interesting malt profile. A sweet hoppy finish, too, with a good resiny aroma in the aftertaste. This is interesting... Malt-forward, a little sweet, but still has a very good interesting resiny hop profile. One I need to revisit, I think.

Pour is fairly clear orange with nice white head out of bottle, aroma brings notes of pine and grass, some slight floral, and orange notes with touch of balancing biscuit. Taste is fairly nice, hop forward and fairly bitter, hints of grass, pine, orange, and some earthy spice, some biscuit, finishes fairly dry and bitter.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2015 2015-07-30. Orange-amber body with a small frothy white head. 3+ Aroma is muted, moderate hop character, light resin. Flavour is moderately bitter throughout, lightly resiny green hops. Average bodied palate, good carbonation. 3+ Okay, a bit mild overall. Bottle from Ye Olde Spirit Shop, Frederick, MD.

bottle, datestamp 3/29/12. clear apple juice bronze. strong juicy fruit bubble gum / mango / tutti-frutti hop nose with a light dose of concrete mix / minerals. medium body with an appropriately balanced bitterness (grass, parsley, young squash) and sweetness (mango, papaya, bubble gum). zippy, zesty and snappy enough and light enough (even at over 7%) to stay balanced. not too sweet (for me) and presents the fruit aromatics of the hops well without any harsh resin character.

My Bottom Line :
This nearly crisp IPA sets forth grapefruit and flower aromas in a smooth body meant for easy drinking.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A creamy head of foam sits atop the misty amber shine.
-This might not be the most explosive IPA, but everything it does it does very well.
-Carbonation feels natural, which I like.
-Grassy hop resins conclude each sip in a tasteful fashion.

Bottle.

Bottle shared at a tasting at LiBira Pub in Haifa. Hazy orange. Aroma of slightly stale hops, a bit piney. Flavor has slightly stale hops bitterness with a bit of piney and citric hints. Medium-bodied. Seems a bit too old.

Bottles from Capone’s and Craft Ale (also had the draft at Capone’s). Pours dark straw with 3-finger clingy off-white head. Nose is a great resiny, piney hop bomb, with tangerine, pineapple, and black pepper. Tastes very resiny, piney, with a huge hop bill, some mid-palate tangerine, pineapple, and black pepper, and a bitter finish. This one is great.

Cask at the Atlanta Cask Ale fest. Pours a clear gold with a slight amber hue and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of sweet grains and grassy hops with a hint of resin. Flavor has much more resin and pine up front that mellow to grass with a sweet grain backbone.

Can from Binny’s. Slightly murky orange pour with a big pillowy white head. Lots of malt and pine in this. Clearly well made, but not really my style of IPA.

On tap @ Public House in Vegas. Hazy deep orange amber, lacy head. Floral hops mingle with sweet malts on the nose. Crunchy cereal malts support intense hop structure that is more piney and earthy than the nose suggests. Long bitter finish. Very good.
