3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home ... Deep black... Very chocolaty malts ... sweet milky chocolate... tasty little roast quite dry ... a distinctive american tone not sure what it is but its something thats noty usually present in UK stout and porters... nice but unsatisfing in the end (though im still scoring above average)

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a dark ruby color lacking in opacity. The head is a two finger mocha shade. It retains itself nicely, and leaves behind some spotty lacing.
S: As expected, itís rather mild here. Some light piny hops, a touch of chocolate, and a mild minty note make up the majority of the aroma. Whatís there is decent, but there just isnít much to begin with.
T: For a 4% porter, this is really damn good. It starts with a wave of herbal, piny hop bitterness, and finishes with some pleasant dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Though itís simple, itís quite savorable, which is downright incredible for 4%.
M: This has a good body for something so ílightí. Itís also very clean, if not quite as dry as Iíd like/expect. Drinkability isnít superb, I must say. However, this means that just a little will go a long way.
O: I could genuinely session this. Normally, when I come across a lightweight beer like this, my first thought is to see how quick I could chug it down, order another one, and repeat until Iím spraying puke on the poor soul next to me. This one, on the other hand, actually has some decent flavor, ergo I kind of donít want to kill it in 4.3 seconds. And there we go, this is a session beer done right. Now if only it werenít priced like the average porter 6 pack...

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by Jredmond. I need a label for this one. Please let me know if anyone has one. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of light roast, cocoa and light coffee. Lighter medium body. Okay.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle shared with clocks. Pours a light blackish- brown body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is watered-down coffee, light malt, some roast and spice. Mouthfeel is watery and thin with notes of muted cocoa, bitter roast, light malt and coffee. The flavor profile really suffers from the mouthfeel/body of the beer, as everything becomes pretty muddled.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Roasty barley malt aroma. Dark brown, poofy high elevation head. Lactic taste, malt seems a little undercooked. Very smooth but lightweight body.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Everything screams subtle when describing this beer - low alcohol, faint roasted aroma, soft chocolate taste, & a borderline thin palate. Certainly drinkable but a porter needs more umph & complexity. Itís ok.

1.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Appearance: clear cola brown that shows deep purple when backlit, with a creamy light tan head and good lacing--looks nice, if a tad light-bodied. Aroma: smells great--dark chocolate, roasty coffee, vanilla, and a hint of green wood. Taste: AWFUL--mineral water, thin chocolate milk, dusty coffee. Finish: watery and thin, with a hint of lingering grass . Notes: What a terrible letdown. I love this brewery, and they make probably the best American schwarzbier of all time. I was really looking forward to this beer. After the aroma, the taste was incredibly disappointing. This is probably the most watery porter Iíve ever had. How did this even make it past quality control?

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ The BeerMongers... Poured deep town with a nice retaining, tan head. This was meh. Thin, watery, some sweetness, mild toasted malts and nutty characters. But overall lackluster and subpar for this style.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Black pour with tan head. Light aroma, roast malt and coffee. Flavour is light for a porter, roast, a little chocolate. Good but not great.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Lots of chocolate and roasted malts. The body is thin for a porter, but I have seen this win medals as a Schwarzbier. Flavorful and easy drinking. Best consumed at the highest peak in Utah, Kings Peak.
