Named after the highest point in the State of Utah at 13,528 feet, Kings Peak is located in the Uinta Mountains, a major east-west mountain range in northeastern Utah. Kings Peak Porter lives up to its name by being big on flavor and complexity. It pours a rich, dark mahogany hue and is complimented by a creamy tan-colored head. Dark chocolate, toasted malt, and coffee may be detected in its nose.

Tap at The Bayou, SLC. Very dark brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is intensely chocolatey with a lovely caramel/toffee sweetness behind as well. Flavour is quite chocolatey with a dark roasty bitterness. A fairly herbal component throughout as well. Dry roasty finish. Decent malt complexity. Solid porter.

Dark beer #5 of 6 from a mixed 6 pack. Aroma is coffee and steel. Appearance is cola color. Taste is black coffee with copper. Palate is very dry. Overall not my favorite but good if you’re looking for a roast coffee taste.

Bottle. Poured a near dark brown with a off white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma started with some sweet dark grains and had a bit of chocolate and toasted notes. Flavor was similar with a good amount of toast and sweet dark roasted grains with just a hint of bitterness.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run, 11/18/14. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized foamy dark brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of dark roast, dark chocolate and a bit of brine. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, mild citrus hops and faint hints of tea. A little thin.

Dark brown, dense tan head. Roasted aroma with a hint of cocoa. Light mouth feel, plenty of roasted malt flavor. Not a hoppy porter; just enough bittering hops to keep it balanced. Tastes higher than 4%, tasty session porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours brown with amber tint and a creamy tan head. Roasted malt aroma with coffee and cocoa. Flavor starts off with a dry roasted malt, some smokiness. Cocoa and coffee with a slight sweetness. Finishes with a roastiness and slight hops. Bit of a thin mouthfeel. This is a fine porter.
