Can pour. Coffee black with white head. Lots of dark bread on nose. Toasted malts. Some light chocolate and faint lager yeast. Taste leads with toasted malts, mild coffee and rounds out with earthy hops. Chalky finish.

Smell is roasted malts and hazelnut. Creamy smooth easy drinking. Taste roasted malts but rather bland Dixie and shiners black lagers are miles above this. Very bland and very bland finish nothing offensive just not much going on. Just another micro brew blah...

355ml bottle from the mixed 6 section of the Calais ME Shop n' Save. What a nice surprise. Stout black, moderate head. Roasty, toasty aroma. Toasted bitterness and the malt was more roasted than sweet. Lager body, but smooth. Overall, more like a more intense Guinness black lager than something German. A stout for lager drinkers, but in a good way. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can at Earls Beer and Cheese. Pours deep brown with thin head. Toasty chocolate, malt and bitter coffee in taste and nose. Palate is weak. Ok

Bottle at the house. To be honest, lagers to me are generally just ’ok’ but this was a pleasant surprise. The aroma was full or roasted notes, chocolate, a faint sweetness, and coffee. Body was medium with a creamy palate. Flavor was full-on with balanced notes of roasted malts and sweetness. Chocolate and coffee are well represented but not over the top. At 4%, this guy is a winner.

Nice roasted malt flavor start and this beer fades to a nice smooth finish. Nice beer overall for this style but would like to taste a bit more hops or have a crisper finish. Would drink again but woul not seek it out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Baba pours a clear dark brown liquid. Like a cola. very fine head of white small bubbles. nose is roasted malt. Taste is a rather dry black coffee flavor with a good amount of roasted malt. Hops secondary. Body is thin. Finishes with a more of the roasted grain.

bottle - Pours dark brown with a tan head and has a mild roasted malt aroma. The flavor is sweet with roast malt and a little coffee. It’s medium bodied and fairly good but not impressive.

Black in the glass with a hint of ruby when held up to the light. Foamy cream colored head. Nice roasty malt aroma with that classic lager note. Crisp and clean on the palate with a hint of bitter roasted malt in the aftertaste. Overall, a solid brew. Thanks to barzigkin for sharing!
