4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Black with a tan head. Aromas of iced coffee, chocolate, and crisp, clean lager yeast. Lots of roasted barley flavors with coffee and a hint of smoke. Medium-bodied with a clean finish.
The dark flavors don’t compromise the crisp characters of a schwarzbier. Really well done.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The beer pours a clear reddish brown with a huge khaki head that fades slowly. The aroma blends roasted malts and lager yeast, and the taste is mildly umami and a touch sour with a malty aftertaste that is slightly roasty. The palate fuses a medium body, slick texture, and a soft carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours quite reddish dark with a soapy beige head. The aroma has smooth roasted malt, dark chocolate, light apple, a bit of spice and some English earthy yeastiness. Pretty nice. It has a fairly light body with a mild amount of somewhat sharp carbonation. The taste is a bit of a toned down version of the aroma with more of a dryness, sharper cocoa presence and some woodiness. The finish has a bit more of the woody earthy hops. Pretty good schwartz.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is sweet toffee, coffee and milk chocolate. Appearance is dark mahogany reddish black. Taste is caramel chocolate coffee sweetness with a hint of nutty roasty smoke. Palate is medium light. You can tell this is a small beer but still with some body. Overall an impressive small beer. Large complex flavor and quite drinkable. One of the best low gravity beers Iv had.

Pour: Dark brown with a big tan head. Smell: herbal & floral hops, lager yeast, light malt, charcoal. Taste: roasty and malty w/ a decent amount of hops. Very light chocolate and espresso notes Tart, semi dry finish-not too bitter. Very light and easy to drink. A good beer. :)

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black w not much head. First hit on the nose is roasted coffee and chocolate that dissipated as the head went. Not much subsequent aroma. Umami and perhaps a little sooty in the mouth. Malt coffee chocolate smokey but not as strong or syrupy as an imperial stout. Retains some of the lightness of a larger. Great beer when u want a black full flavor beer but not a heavy stout.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice beer. Deviates slightly from the style. No real hint of aroma. Very dark brew with a tan head. Medium weight with strong carbonation. Nice flavor of roasted and hoppy, almost like a black IPA and schwarzbier blended.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very dark brown brew with a 2 finger head of off white foam sitting atop.
Bitter roasted malt in the smell with string hints of smoke. The bitter could be some hop character as well, I suppose.
Roasted malt, bitter hops, definite flavours of smoke that compliment. There’s some real harmony going on with this black lager.
It has a creamy mouthfeel.
Very good brew!
