Golden/pale color, malty, lightly bitter and leaves a light, thin bitter taste on the palate.

Overall pretty decent blonde ale, i’m not a huge fan of blondes, but this one is pretty tastey overall.

Bottle. Yellow orange pour with a finger thick head that turned into a nice lacing shortly after. Banana, apple, spice. Light body, too much carbonation for the body. Light slight bitter finish Some beligun characteristics. Not impressive for a Unita.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2013 12 ounce bottle. Clear yellow appearance. Corn husk aroma. Tastes very yeasty. Palate is medium to light and there are moderate amounts of carbonation. It was ok, but I got bored quickly. I feel as if Monkshine should have a total score higher than 3.0, but there are no individual aspects that warrant high marks here. Translation: it’s a nicely packaged, mediocre beer. I do like the graphical suggestions for proper glassware on the Uinta labels.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours golden with an off-white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, a little caramel and pale malts, some light fruit/citrusy notes, and floral hops. Flavor the same, with a nice balance of everything but not a lot of flavors. Average to light texture. A decent Belgian attempt by an American brewery.

I had been pleased with all Uinta brews I had until this one. Had a strange tinge to it that I didn’t care for. Not horrible, but not good.

Slightly hazy, orange. Light aromas of clove, crisp apple, bananas, and slightly peppery. Banana and clove flavors with light spice and a hint of noble hop and accompanying bitterness. Light and dry.
The bittering hops are in a weird power struggle with the spice and cloves. Flavors don’t marry together all that well, but drinkability isn’t sacrificed.

12oz bottle: pours a clear bright golden with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet biscuity malty nose with some light fruity esters. Starts with good fullness and fine carbonation with nice malty sweetness and doughy yeast with a touch of clove before a slightly drier and smooth finish. True to style and enjoyable.

Poured a clear golden color with a white head. Aroma is banana, clove, bubblegum, herbs, caramel, dough, and cereal. Taste is banana, clove, bitter, and lemon. I really wish the taste were as complex as the smell.

Yeasty, grassy, sugar and ester filled citrus aroma. Nice looking clear orange. Sweet biscotti taste. Teases sourness but never really goes that way. Sweet and salted effect of Belgian yeast in a lighter beer. Lightweight body which packs enough bite to keep it out of the session range. On the other hand, you’d be hard pressed to find near 7% alcohol in this thing.
