COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
European tradition meets western modernity with Monkshine, an approachable adaptation of the classic style brewed in Belgian monasteries. Rejoice, fellow admirers of Belgian ales, for there is Four+ Monkshine.

12oz bottle. Pours a very light golden with a thin white head an medium lacing. This is a bit of a miss. Itís not bad but it ainít exactly good either. I get the Belgian yeast aroma but very little of the nice flavors that usually go with it. A slight hint of pepper but otherwise pretty tasteless and boring. Not one of Uintaís better efforts.

Bottle: malty, sweet. Lacks typical belgian alesí characteristics. Food Pairing: Crepe.

A bit of a bitter after taste, should be sweeter. Refreshing, decent alcohol level, could use a bit more body.

I like Uinta at times but I think this is a cool beer name. Bottle from Total Wine that pours clear orange with a small white head that quickly dissipates. Not a real pretty beer here honestly. The aroma has some honey sweetness followed by metallic, cheap notes. The taste is also fairly metallic, a little sweetness up front and a dry finish. This seems like they were trying to make a Duvel without using high quality materials.

Golden/pale color, malty, lightly bitter and leaves a light, thin bitter taste on the palate.

Overall pretty decent blonde ale, iím not a huge fan of blondes, but this one is pretty tastey overall.

Bottle. Yellow orange pour with a finger thick head that turned into a nice lacing shortly after. Banana, apple, spice. Light body, too much carbonation for the body. Light slight bitter finish Some beligun characteristics. Not impressive for a Unita.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2013 12 ounce bottle. Clear yellow appearance. Corn husk aroma. Tastes very yeasty. Palate is medium to light and there are moderate amounts of carbonation. It was ok, but I got bored quickly. I feel as if Monkshine should have a total score higher than 3.0, but there are no individual aspects that warrant high marks here. Translation: itís a nicely packaged, mediocre beer. I do like the graphical suggestions for proper glassware on the Uinta labels.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours golden with an off-white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, a little caramel and pale malts, some light fruit/citrusy notes, and floral hops. Flavor the same, with a nice balance of everything but not a lot of flavors. Average to light texture. A decent Belgian attempt by an American brewery.

I had been pleased with all Uinta brews I had until this one. Had a strange tinge to it that I didnít care for. Not horrible, but not good.
