2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle/12oz - Pours a golden amber in color with a small white head that faded quickly. Aroma is not strong, but elements of toffee/caramel, estery fruits, some grassy hops and a slightly unpleasant "starchy" character. Flavor includes some bready yeast, toffee/carmel malts and grassy hops. The "starchiness" persists and greatly detracts from the experience... not good, from a brewer that can do *much* better...

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours somewhere between amber and straw, slightly hazy with 1 finger of densely bubbled head, some visual effervescence, and great retention. Aroma is light tropical citrus, light toast, and an underlying resin backbone. Taste is tangerine, clementine, fruity toast, and a slightly sweet orange-y finish. Body is light, below average carbonation, thin mouthfeel, dry refreshing finish. Overall, a pretty good beer for 4%abv. Fairly straightforward with just enough complexity to make it interesting. High quaffability.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is a prickly hop with lots of spice and fruit. Grapefruit for sure in this. Flavor is spicy and fresh hops. Better than expected.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours yellowish orange with lasting white head from bottle, aroma has notes of toffee, some biscuit, grass, touch of hay and bread as well in there. Taste has some sharp grassy pine notes that fade quickly into biscuit, spicy earth, touch of toast, finishing slightly bitter, mostly clean.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden amber with a decent white head and plenty of carbonation. I’m not usually a fan of these lower abv ales but this one is well done and the flavor compares well with many pales ales of much higher alcohol content. I also tend to not like organic beers as they often have off tastes but again, not bad with this one.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
9/21/11. 12oz bottle courtesy Cav-forshizz-ie. Slightly hazy orange pour with basically no head to speak of, and juuuust a touch of lacing. This beer smells and tastes like creamed corn... a lot. Besides that, though, the aroma is sweet and hints at tea. The flavor is bready and tastes like overcooked pasta in addition to the corn (yes, I’m being serious), and there’s also a hint of tea. Mehhhh.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
It is nice to see a brewer make a lower rather than a higher ABV American pale. I like an IPA as much as the next guy but I get kinda tired of everyone pushing their APAs to be IPAs. Let’s relax a bit on the alcohol and brew some beers we can drink shittons of, that’s what I say, especially when the beers are as good as this. It may be low on alcohol but you’d never guess based on the taste. It is full flavored w/ tons of wonderful citrus hop notes. It’s just a tiny bit sweet, enough to keep it from being watery, and has lovely soft carbonation. This is a brew w/ the seemingly mutually exclusive properties of being light and spritzy and deep and complex. I want more of it.

I really enjoyed this pale ale. It was very nice and smooth with a great flavor and not too much hop palate. Low alcohol so it is very sessionable.
