3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle bbd april 14, 2013. hazed rich gold body with a fine white head and medium effervescence. pleasant hop aroma of dried pineapple, citrus pith and melon. yeast is mild but with surprisingly nuanced: lightly estery and musty aroma and flavor, lending a softness to the already soft malt. lightly sweet; medium-low bitterness; yeast becomes starch-heavy and vitamin-like as it opens; body seems to weaken and become more watery. overall a respectable product but it lacks vibrancy and intrigue, so itís not something I imagine myself craving. thereís some nutt-y and mushroom-y English ale yeast play here, sometimes enjoyable but other times unpleasant and sourish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
had from a bottle at zillies in ocracoke. suprised this one was rated so low. Itís a decent pale ale- kind of mellow. good session beer. Pours a light orangy color- slightly hazy. decent head. nicely balanced- bit of hoppiness to the finish but mellow. could have a bit more hop to it, but it doesnít need it. flavors stand up on their own. Had it in the same session as Lagunitas Pale- totally different, but not worse, necessarily. Just a bit more subdued. Like Utah.
