Wyld unleashes the flavors of the beloved American Pale Ale. Brewed with organic barley malt and hopped just enough to tempt an IPA loyalist, Four+ Wyld Extra Pale Ale is USDA Certified Organic. The experience awakens primal desires of all native beer drinkers.

12 oz bottle fro Whole Foods The ale poured a light golden color with a frothy head with lacing. The carbonation was lively and added to the positive appearance. I guess I am not a big organic beer drinker. This Extra Pale Ale missed the mark with me. The ale justs seems watery and thin. This is not a robust ale where the hops reach out and grab you. It just didn’t awaken my primal desires.

Bottle pours golden-orange with a white head that laces rather nicely. Aroma is peaches and biscuit with some caramel poking through. Flavor is citrus, pine, and caramel, finishing on a bitter earthy spice note. The body is fairly light with a decent amount of carbonation. Definately a sessionable pale.

Bottle, $1.80, Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville. Pours a light amber with a 2-inch frothy white head. Smells of grapefruit and bubblegum. Tastes of light orange peel, pepper, and lemon peel. Tasty, but watery.

A lovely beer with citrus aroma and plenty of caramel notes. Nothing spectacular, but hey, organic has to count for something!

Can. Pours a hazy, bright gold with a high, large-grained, lacy white head. Nose is grapefruit, lime, and a touch of salinity. Citric on the tongue, with lemon and a touch of saltiness; crisp and very clean, with a bitter finish that shades more into grapefruit. Really easy to drink, and really refreshing. Enjoyable.

Cloudy banana yellow. Looks gorgeous. Thick swatch of icy white head/lace. Aroma is hops that have, admittedly softened up a bit. (Best by date is January ’14, drank in August ’14.) Has that flowery, somewhat chlorine aroma. Perfectly pleasant. The flavor has pillowy malts, pollen-y hops. The feel is soft and creamy. It’s one of the better organic beers I’ve had, I have to say.

Bottle. Pours yellow with white head. Smells grapefruity, wheat. Tastes bitter, very citrusy, really unique. I like it.

On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso in Georgetown. Dry, hoppy and sessionable golden beer with a lightly tart, fruity tang. Heart’s in the right place. Could use more malt backbone, and it could be done without sacrificing dryness or low abv. Could be cleaner, but this is a brewer’s beer, for enjoying during and after a long day over the tun and kettle.
