3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very roasted/nearly burnt pumpkin aroma with some hinted spice. Appearance is a darkened gold with some decent lacing. Carbonated pumpkin overtones with some vanilla, spices and herbs available to the palate. Overall, Not a bad pumpkin ale, pretty basic, yet not bad. C rating.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
I poured a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. It had a best before date of 1/29/14 and cost $2.50 ($0.21 per ounce).
Appearance: Pumpkin-skin orange hue. Hazy, but translucent. Pours to an average-sized, off-white, foamy head which mostly dissipates and leaves some lacing on the glass.
Smell: An odd combination of rustic spices with authentic pumpkin flesh. Not sweet or pie-like.
Taste: Uinta is a brewery Iíve enjoyed exploring over the last year or two, and Iíve liked all of their beers that Iíve had. That is until I tried the Punkín. This is not your average pumpkin beer - if it were, itíd be much better. This beer has an unusual spice palette that opts for sheer rusticness over sweetness or familiar liquid pie flavor.
Itís actually a bit difficult to describe whatís going on here. The spices are likely nutmeg and cinnamon, but they donít have the familiar sweet combination you get in most other brews of the style. Itís like liquefied potpourri - bitter, astringent and earthy. The label indicates the beer is made with organic pumpkin, and itís possible that what Iím tasting actually is the pumpkin itself rather than sweetened puree used in so many other beers. Thatís fine, but the result is a bad-tasting beer. These flavors just donít work together. I even get a salty, almost bile-like flavor on the finish, which is quite off-putting after each swig. Finishing the serving was a challenge.
Drinkability: Supposedly, this beer is only 4% ABV, though I canít get confirmation on that as itís not listed on the breweryís website or the bottle itself. If it is that light in weight, itís definitely impressive since thereís a lot of body here. The mouthfeel is thin and crisp and while I donít particularly care for the taste, the drinking process is at least easy.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
12 oz bottle. Dark copper pour. Aroma of moldy gym socks. Taste is loaded with burnt cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and nutmeg. Not much pumpkin though. One of the worst pumpkin beers I have had. Has a metallic taste. Take the spices away and u have nothing. Itís bland and boring.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma: A toasted, salty aroma with hints of leather and herbs.
Appearance: Clear amber with rich head.
Taste: Light sweetness with salty finish.
Palate: Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, long finish.
Overall: Itís almost like they went for toasted, salted pumpkin seeds instead of pumpkin itself. Much too salty.

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
Poured clear amber with a nice off-white head. Aroma is pumpkin and sugar. Medium light mouthfeel which is appropriate for pumpkin ales. Taste was way off. Iím not sure if this was a bad batch but a definitely pronounced Dimethyl Sulfide off flavoring to this bottle. Overall, I see the potential that this beer has, but the DMS was a significant issue.

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. Pours clear deep orange with off-white head. Smells like brown sugar, spices. Tastes bready, chocolate, citrus hops, earthy. Doesnít really do it for me, not much pumpkin going on, kinda like a bad brown.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
It is what it is....a nice session seasonal. Pours a dark golden color with no head retention and slight lacing. Light pumpkin and spice aroma and taste. At 4% itís not intended to knock your socks off, but it is a pleasant, light, above average autumn ale. Cheers!

Organic which is nice but the spices are the same, you didnít do anything ot differentiate yourself there.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a rich caramel color with no head. Very little aroma except for a little spice. A little fizzy in the mouth without any real taste of pumpkin or spices. However, this is a light tasting beer with a nice hoppy bite, just not what I would expect from a pumpkin ale.

This is a real subtle beer, which is a shame. I am psyched for pumpkin beer (and everything else) season and wanted something bold. Still a good beer, though.
