3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2013 Itís fine. that about sums it up. It is sort of like an anemic amber ale- pours that color with a bit of lacing on top. the pumpkin is there but in a subtle way- too subtle I would say. Not much (any) hoppiness to it but a sweetness and warmth from the spices. quite light on the palate. I guess I expect a fall beer to be a bit more substantial- in a warm you from the inside-out kind of way. this is really more like a summer ale with a tiny hint of pumkin. like the brewer was told to add pumpkin, but they always chose the desert at thankgiving that wasnít pumpkin pie.
for what itís worth.....tried it a second time and was much more appreciative of the subtleties. definitely better than I remember.

From a bottle. Pours very clear medium copper brown with a thin off white head. Tastes like pumpkin with light spice, not too sweet and not too dry. Very nice flavor. Light body and low/medium carbonation. Smells like semi-sweet pumpkin pie.

Finally got my hands on some more pumpkin beers! This is Uintaís Punkín. Bottle, 4%. A golden orange-amber color with a light beige head. Served in a snifter, straight from the fridge the aroma is cloves, cinnamon, some pumpkin flesh. The taste is sweet, zesty spiciness with cinnamon, clove, allspice & a hearty helping of pumpkin. Full bodied, this is what I was looking for, you get some real vegetal yam/pumpkin notes that are nicely complemented by pumpkin pie type spices. Well-balanced to me with it being a bit more pumpkin forward with the spices taking a backseat. Nice!

Draught @ Headkeeper: This one pours a clear, orange tinged amber color. There was a wisp of an off-white head on it. Lighter but nice aroma. Some pumpkin pie spices and a hint of pumpkin. The taste is good. Some pumpkin pie spices, some pumpkin and some malt sweetness. Fairly nice.

Pours an orange pumpkin color which matches the aroma. Taste is straight pumpkin with spice mixed in. A tasty herb style of beer which dissipated quickly.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cloudy carrot orange color, some very nice lacing on the side of the glass, itís lovely.
Spicy, bready carrot cake aroma. There is a touch of cooked vegetables. Touch of nutmeg and brown sugar.
Nutty brown sugar flavors; the pumpkin comes out here, but it still manifests itself as a bready flavor. It is a wonderfully balanced flavor. Itís worth sipping, savoring.
The feel is buttery and thick; perfect for style. If you like Southern Tierís Pumking, this is probably the closest thing to it in this style.
