Harvest the flavors of fall with a bottle opener and a stroll down the craft-brewed beer aisle. Four+ Punkín Ale is the pick of the crop with notes of roasted pumpkin and seasonal spices. Savory. Crisp. The sweetness is in the celebration, not on the palate.

In a pumpkin beer bonanza, this one stood out above some of the rest. There is a clear pumpkin aroma, and taste, with hints of spice (clove). Pretty good, and worth revisiting.

Itís alright. Aroma is sort of sweet and spicy. You can smell some pumpkin. Taste is alright too. Kind of spicy, and a little bitter. Thereís some pumpkin flavor but its kind of weird. Not bad.

6 oz draft pour at Snallygaster 2014 shared by someone. Orange brown with off-white head. Aromas of pumpkin and spices. Tastes of pumpkin, light spices, herbs. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

A most mild pumpkin brew. Burnt malt complexion, pumpkin, spice. Bread or cereal backbone. Medium body, goes down kinda rough. It isnít sweet but that is ok. Bitter finish.

Hops and pumpkin awesome. Pour dark amber with a tall white head. Aroma some spices but over all weak. Flavors are cool because starts out a little flat but hops jump in and give needed flavors. Donít get me twisted not hoppy but yes you taste hops and that is cool with the pumpkins.

Bottle. Pours a hazy brown with a moderate head. Yeasty aroma with a bit of pumpkin and not a whole lot else. Flavor is heavily malty, with coffee notes, some pumpkin, a touch of nutmeg, and not a whole lot of other spice. Less sweet than your average pumpkin beer, and not too typical of the style.

Pours a clear reddish-orange color with off-white head. Pumpkin pie spice and pumpkin on the nose, with just a hint of malt; follows onto the palate. Finishes with more spice.

12 oz bottle from Whole Foods in Hillsboro, OR. Initial nose has strong fall spices and a bit of malty sweetness. After tasting, I get cardboard and barnyard flavors like dirt, straw, or hay. Mouthfeel has a slight dry astringency from the spices and some bitterness from the hops. The spice profile is nice, but it desperately needs more sugar and alcohol to balance it out. The lack of malt leaves a dry, dull, and unfulfilling aftertaste. Utah and their 4% beer can eat a bag of di*ks.

Poured from a 12oz from Whole Foods. Initial aroma was similar to "fake pumpkin". Taste/palate was pretty weak in the beer backbone area but thankfully not too overpowered with spices. Based on the appetizing color of this beer, I expect it to be more complex.

Typical Uinta offering. Still itís a bit better than New Hollandís Ichabod, with a slight bit of cinnamon and spice hints (still though, nothing special). The best things about this beer might be the name and the pretty bottle.
