COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Solstice Kölsch Style Ale is named for the lighter-style ales originating in the city of Cologne, Germany, whose history of brewing dates back to 874. Cologne’s beers differed from neighboring German beers in that they were top fermenting beers, versus bottom fermenting. A modern Kölsch was as defined in 1986 by the Kölsch Konvention as being pale, hop-accented, top fermented, and filtered. Solstice defines the style! Uinta chose the name Solstice to acknowledge the sunny disposition of the beer and to celebrate the changing of the seasons.

Very nice opaque gold to orange color. Not a lot that I noticed on the nose. Good slightly sweet, but hearty flavor. Leaves you with a little bit of a chunky feel. Pleasant.

Bottle at home. Pours lightly hazy orange with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is Pils malt, corn and DMS with light spicy hops. Flavor is sweet malt dominant, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Clear orange pour some head. Aroma of barley, yeast, hay, tang. Tastes full malty, creamy sweet. Not representative of the style. Leaves a thick creaminess in the mouth. Could’ve been a lot more refreshing.

12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s into a pint glass, one month past it’s date. Golden yellow and clear with a lacy white head, mostly lasting. Mild aroma of light sweet malts and light noble hops. Similar flavor, bland and crisp with light bitterness. Light body, tastes kind of old.

Appearance: poured into my favorite Gaffel Kölsch glass, it’s bright clear gold with a fluffy, bright white head. Aroma: light cereal grains, with some citrus zest, a hint of pepper, and a bit of hay. Taste: delicate flavors of lightly toasted white bread, bitter citrus and floral notes, and a bit of spice. Finish: clean, crisp, and dry, with a bit of floral bitterness. Notes: This is a nicely delicate kölsch, as the style dictates. It’s lacking some of the traditional sweetness I look for, but it’s pretty decent.

12oz bottle labeled as Uinta HooDoo at Brewmasters in Wilson poured into a pint glass. Golden brown hue with a hazy body with mostly lasting white head. I had a hard time on aroma but there were some citrus notes. Bitter fruit/citrus on the initial taste with a moderate lasting fruit/citrus finish. This was an okay beer!

Labeled as "Uinta Hoodoo." Yeasty aroma. Pale yellow color. Moderately bitter, but very drinkable. Not much character.

Clear, pale gold with a frothy, white head. The aroma has light cracker and lemon notes. It has a light, crisp texture with lively carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with a quick, clean finish.

Pours a muted yellow and kinda of hazy. Lemon aroma. Flavor is light toasty grain. Bitter metallic finish. Would be great in mass quantities on the beach.

(bottle - 12 oz) Hazy light gold pour with a fizzy white head. Dry and lightly dank aroma with a touch of sweet malts under it. Sweet and slightly fruity at the start that leads to a light melon sweetness near the middle and then quickly fades into a lightly bitter and dry finish and aftertaste.
