India Pale Ale is a style of ale noted for its high hop content. The style of beer received its name in the 19th century when England controlled the country of India. With no refrigeration or pasteurization in those days, the British were challenged to brew a beer that would survive the long, hot trip to India and upon arrival, satisfy the British citizens and thirsty troops stationed there. In discovering that the hop flower is a natural preservative, the British brewed an ale with an abundant amount of hops, and it worked! Hundreds of years later, the style is still the favorite of many a craft brew drinker. Uinta’s Trader is a well balanced version of the traditional India Pale Ale. The beer is dry hopped with a generous amount of Centennial hops that give it a nice floral finish and a citrusy assertiveness without jeopardizing its malt flavor.

Not big on session IPAs and this one just underwhelms. Muddled hop palate exaserbated by the low alcohol. Blah.

Draft at the brewery. Pours clear bright gold with a fizzy off white head and lots of lacing. Tastes like pine hops, resin, smooth mellow grapefruit, and toasted malt. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like musky pine hops, faint resin, and faint grapefruit.

Surprised people are so harsh on this. Amazing head, nice lacing. Aroma is so amazing when you first pour it! Flavor is a bit malty, but nice bitterness, quite mellow as a session should be. Overall not bad. Maybe I just like beer more than the rest ;-)

Not too hoppy for an IPA, not very filling either. Good beer to have when only planning on having one

Beer of month club. Pours a deep gold with slight white foam. Nose of citrus and pine. It's on the taste this is obviously a session - I am so used to the big IPAs the difference is striking. There is some citrus, but it is pretty bready and much thinner than what I am used to. It's ok for a session, but think I will stick to the big guns. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Uinta. Clear golden pour with a sticky white head. Mostly just smells and tastes like bread, though there is a fair amount of floral and grassy hop character. Slight citrus rind as well. A little sweeter than I’m used to for a session IPA, but does have some decent bitterness. Not bad, but kind of on the mild side.

I have got high hopes for this one and I am live dictating, not typing, this be a review. I am about to take a sip. OK multi back bone grassy Hobbs that seemingly will not go away, sit number two

One of the better sessions out there. For 4%, I’d say on the heavier side for both malt and hops. Good balance...crisp and refreshing. Has a cloudy light orange appearance. Mild citrus and pine in the aroma and flavor. A new addition to my spring and summer beer rotations.
