India Pale Ale is a style of ale noted for its high hop content. The style of beer received its name in the 19th century when England controlled the country of India. With no refrigeration or pasteurization in those days, the British were challenged to brew a beer that would survive the long, hot trip to India and upon arrival, satisfy the British citizens and thirsty troops stationed there. In discovering that the hop flower is a natural preservative, the British brewed an ale with an abundant amount of hops, and it worked! Hundreds of years later, the style is still the favorite of many a craft brew drinker. Uinta’s Trader is a well balanced version of the traditional India Pale Ale. The beer is dry hopped with a generous amount of Centennial hops that give it a nice floral finish and a citrusy assertiveness without jeopardizing its malt flavor.

On tap at bier thirty. Pours out a orangeish golden topped with a white head. Nose is pine citrus hops and some earth notes. Taste is as the nose with a nice light hop and some caramel malts.

Resinous hop color. 1 inch frothy white head. Aroma is floral but more faintly fruity. Flavor is fruity and finishes with a lingering medium bitterness.

Appearance: clear gold from a can, with a creamy, bubbly, eggshell-colored head, with average lacing. Aroma: nice aroma of pine, grapefruit, orange rind, apricot, lightly toasted white bread. Taste: very light flavors, with citrus and caramel, light pine, and some earthy notes as well. Finish: abrupt and slightly watery, with a ghost of grass and pine. Notes: Had a few session IPAs lately, and this wasn’t anywhere near the top of the list. It wasn’t outright offensive, but it wasn’t great.

Can at home in CT. Pours clear orange-gold with a foamy white head. The nose has plenty of pine, some orange rind, melon. Light sweet flavor with more melon, ripening orange, Fruity Pebbles cereal, pine, grapefruit. Light bodied with average carbonation. OK balance to finish with more citrus fruits, light piney bitterness, light perfume, some pale bread. Not bad.

12 oz bottle from Premier Gourmet. Pours a nearly clear golden colour with modest-sized white head. Aroma is grassy, floral hops with grains and a little earthiness. Flavour is grainy with grassy, floral hops, some citric notes and a little earthy character. Lighter body and carbonation. Decent.

Can. Very light IPA, thin body, light yellow with white head. Just okay for a session style

don’t see the low rank for this, though it’s not among the best, either. decent body for the low abv and does a decent job of showcasing a good amount of floral and citrusy hops.

Pours gold into a shaker. White head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Caramel and earth aromas. Dry with dark earthy caramel and resin front to back.

From a bottle. Pretty weak for an IPA and Uinta for that matter. Expect more from these guys. Not acceptable to make a mediocre beer and call it a session IPA in an attempt to make it passable. Pours on the golden side of IPA. Not much in the way of aroma or taste- hops are way too subtle for the style. Just bland and somewhat boring. in all respects- would not order again.

Pint pour, moderate gold with medium sized off white head. Nose is somewhat lightly floral with mild to medium hop. Flavor has some sweetness, almost fruity but not of the typical hop flavors... Clean drinking though, and honestly for 4% it’s not bad really. May not be a top ten session IPA but I’d order this one again
