Hearty malt backbone with solid fresh toasted grain and biscuit character. Some nice caramel sweetness with straw and crisp grassy highlights. Silky smooth body with light fruit notes.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled, 355ml from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon. Orange gold with big white head. There is an initial fruity nose with the promise of plenty of hops. This transfers in to the beer, the body is light and crisp, there is a biscuity malt, but the big star is the fruity hop flavours, there is a bitter orange alongside a sharp passion fruit type flavour, refreshing, bitter for an APA, I really liked it and proof, if it were needed, that American beers donít necessarily have to go big.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle. Pours golden orange with white head. Somewhat hoppy aroma, herbal and floral. Flavor is lightly hoppy, soft citrus orange and lime floral, but pretty balanced, good malt backbone and by no means a hopped up beer. Palate is medium to thin, although I wouldnít go so far as to call this watery. Well itís not the best pale ale Iíve had but I wouldnít go so far as to say it sucks. Itís not bad, especially as a session given the lightness of palate and low alcohol.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Medium aroma of hops and grapefruit. Same to the taste. This is a decent pale ale, nothing too special about it. I like how the bitterness in the end is subdued as well as most of the flavor. This is a decent ístarterí pale ale for people wanting to try them but not wanting something too strong. Donít know where the "Extra" in the name comes from, cause itís about as plain as it gets. Not a bad thing, but it is what it is! I kinda feel this way about all the Four+ beers Iíve had outside of Monkshine - a bit too bland/weak, but always enjoyable. This is nearly as enjoyable as their Punkín beer, so thatís saying something (though Iíd take one of those every single time over this). 4% alcohol.

3.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
[355ml bottle, Appellation Wines, Edinburgh] Slightly hazy pale golden colour from the slight bottle conditioning. Decent half-inch reducing head. Well carbonated. No abv on the bottle. Fantastic aromas of fruit Ė pineapple, papaya Ė big tropical smells. Very floral tastes as the fruity hops continue, but then really thin on the aftertaste Ė clearly a low abv. Watery. Very carbonated, effervesces in the mouth. Finishes quite weakly, which is a disappointment

Bottle. Cloudy golden beer with a strong white head. The aroma is fairly well hopped with a warming grassy element, and the flavour is mildly hopped. Overall a fairly average hopped American beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Toasty buttermilk biscuit, grassy dry leafy hops in the nose. Pale gold, thin sticky white head. Very dry, almost dusty up front, full bodied with an ample pale malt backbone, grassy hops come up to provide a balance and not overpower. Very nice session beer, easily approachable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Golden with a small head. Hoppy aroma upon opening which was quite pleasant. Fruity with some hops. Sharp flavour and plenty of body for its relatively low strength. Well above average.
