COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This full-flavored amber lager delivers a complex, toasted malt body and noble hop character. Honey and caramel undercurrents. Vanilla accents. Malty with light and hoppy notes. Finishes dry. Yard Sale pairs well with earthy mushroom bisque, grilled lamb or pork, and even mussels and clams.
STORY
"Yard Sale" is skier slang for when a skier falls down on a slope and loses his gear which ends up scattered down the mountain.

wow. bad to an unreal level. watery and thin, completely flabby due to near zero acid, low hop rate and fizzy, disjointed carbonation. toast, caramel and toffee, etc., but the extremely watery texture and stewed caramel / celery / moldy fruit stew thing is totally off-putting.

12oz. Bottle: Faint malt aroma. Poured amber in color with a small, off-white head that disappeared immediately. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malts and cola. Medium body. Thin, watery texture. Average texture. Malty finish.

Light brown. Disturbing nose. Smells more like pot smoke than any pot smoke ever produced. While I know some people on Ratebeer that would likely automatically give this one a 10 in aroma because of that fact, Iím not one of those people. Flavor starts a bit sweet, then the same musty pot flavor comes on. Nasty aftertaste. As most people seem to think this beer has no scent, perhaps I just got a "special" bottle. At any rate, it sucked.

Features all of the aromatic offerings of a large pencil eraser. Pink rubber is also found in the taste. Thankfully, a bit of sweet malt softened the dry errant-comma-rubbing strangeness.

Bottle: Dark woody amber with a thin head. Little to no aroma. The flavor is quite tart ... hint of ashen smoke, maybe, but almost puckeringly tart predominately. Not a fan.

Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a hazy amber with white head. Aroma is fruity, light nut, faint grain and faint malt. Flavor isnít much different. Mouth feel is light body and watery. Nothing I would recommend.

In my whole life I have never opened anything other than a single-celled water smoking unit and smelled the aroma of bong water so stronly as my first whiff of this beer. Hazy amber, light tan smallish head. That aroma is too much. I am not sure how they managed this, especially in Utah, but manage it they did. Lightly sweet aroma that develops into... nothing. Watery body, bong water aftertaste. Ugghhh. Even if you like to smoke the ganja I bet you will not like tis one.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2008 Ugh, this taste just like Two Brothers Brown Fox Session Ale. It starts out like a typical Brown Ale but the aftertaste is like used/old chewing gum. I dont know if it is the difference in geography that one brewer calls it an amber lager and the other it is a mild brown ale but the taste is the same, putrid. This was included in my last shipment of Michael Jacksonís beer of the month club, it will be my last.

Red-brown with good lacing. Aroma suggests sourness and a metallic touch, with little malt presence. The flavor is horrific--a sweet front lasting for just one second, after which this is a hollow, thin, malt water. Metallic, thin palate. Iím very glad to see a brewer making a go of it in Utah but Iím sorry to say that this beer needs wholesale review and improvement.

Donít know if I got a bad batch or what, but this may be the worst beer Iíve had from a Utah craft brewer. Iíd rather drink BMC than this. Terrible both in aroma and flavor.
