3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A clean, unexciting but friendly blonde with reasonable hop presence and thankfully very restrained spicing. Apparently now brewed at Van Steenberge under contract. I guess we can now expect a cleaner, more consistent, less interesting beer. Drank at Mr. Paeleman’s Bloemenlust cafe in Wetteren. 33cL bottle pours bright gold, clear and sparkling, with nicely laced white head. Nose is sweetish, malty, grass-hoppy. Pleasant. Flavor starts sweet but quickly rides the carbonation into a dry, grassy, moderate bitterness. Great balance between sweet and bitter, but the alcohol shows through a little. Spicing is subtle, as it should be. Well put-together.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk. Pour is a very clear and very pale golden yellow - almost bordering on clear in colour :o). A big, fluffy white head on top. Aroma is very Saison-ish, lots of herbs, yeast, pepper. Lively mouthfeel. Flavour is impressive when compared to its pale colour. A citric base with light sourness. A herbal centre and a slightly nutty and peppery bitter finish. This has perhaps been down-rated a bit more than it deserved. Seems more like a Tripel than anything else.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Huge fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Cloudy orange color. Good lacework. Aroma was somewhat strange and Saison like, with notes of raw mead, citrus, vegetable, fruit, mix of spice, leather and hint of grass. Medium bodied with an average carbonations and light dry texture. Balanced bitter and sweet flavor. Spicy sweet finish. Don’t quit know what to make of this beer.

Hazy, straw with a huge, white head. Both aroma and flavour has notes of green, juicy apples, spice, flower and the flavour is slightly perfumed. It has sweetness and a moderate bitter finish. 1851
