COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
André Paeleman refers to this blond beer with a fruity, bitterish taste, as a "living tripel from Wetteren". It is brewed with pilsener malt, oats, two types of hops and a herb. The name "Uitzet" comes from the beer of the same name that was brewed in 1730 by the publican and brewer Verstraete.

Hazy pale blond color; nice head; a lot of perlage. Spicy aroma, with malt and earth. Very dry front, then some malt and sweetness appear, to be dry again at the end; the flavor has spices as well (coriander) with a touch of lemon peel. The bitterness is ordinary. Overall, an interesting brew.

Bottled [BB 09/2007]. Hazy pale orange, huge cloudy off-white head, very good lacing. A spicey, hoppy, fruity, slightly alcoholic aroma. Fresh-lemony, slightly alcoholic flavor. Bitterness is short, palate could be stronger but otherwise world class "session" triple.

Radek touched the cork lightly and it exploded out of the bottle, putting a dent in his ceiling. With loud noises and swiftly flying projectiles in the air, former Ratebeerian Turbo exited the room with a quickness. The beer did some foaming, but soon settled down. But it was clearly agitated, as evidenced by the chunks of yeast floating around in my glass. The opaqueness set off the straw colour, giving it life. The head calmed down to a thinnish, but rocky formation. The aroma was all yeast, then yielded to spices, alcohol, and a slight hint of fruitiness (cherry). The pale malts on the palate somewhat came off as cloying, with notes of honey, alcohol, peaches, white pepper and yeast. Rough and ready version of the style.

(750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy golden body with a small white head. Aroma of mustiness, old books, cobwebs, apple, and dried flowers. Flavor of candi sugar, cork, florals, and grass.

Hazy gold, lively light head. Cidery, very sour and fruity, aroma. Definitely some brett in there. A bit fizzy in the mouth. Quite a light taste - light malts. As it warmed, there were more and more malty tastes, and perhaps some apple. Very refreshing, and hides the 6.8% very well. Deep hoppy finish.

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2005 Poured a medium and hazy yellow color with a smaller sized white head. Lots of little floaters. Main aromas of yeast. Tastes of yeast (not nearly as much as the aroma), fruity and lemons. Sugary sweet.

Thanks Papsoe I have been looking for this rare triple. Understated fine taste, though dry. Reminds me of the finest Belgiums. Light colour with lace. Pleasant floral yeast aroma.Fruit in a smooth mouthfeel.
