Aroma: Malty & fruity
Taste: Full bodied. Malty, fruity taste with light, hoppy bitterness. Very strong but not sweet.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2010. Pale chestnut, bit of haze. Lots of dry malt on aorma, maybe a bit of unbrewed out malt. Bit sweet malt, not fully attenuated. Not great.

A good strong ale normally available around Christmas time. Where there was nothing wrong with it, I don’t really miss it when it’s not available during the rest of the year.

Cask at the Woolpack in Slad. Deep whisky caramel with foamy oak-brown head. Strong caramel-wood aroma. Great appearance, thin alc head. Coating, oily alc body. Leather, marmalade. Roasty sweet caramel sauce. Very good.

Cask-conditoned at the Old Crown, Uley 27/12/2011. Reddish amber with a slight, off-white head. Red berry and bready malt aroma with a touvh of caramel. Flavour was driven by fruity malts, with a touch of cereal and moderately bitter finish. Alcohol was fairly prominent throughout. Ok.
