Red beer which poured with off white head.Light spicy aromas with malt in there too.In the taste;malt and subtle spices.Toffee, plum and brown sugar are there in the background. This bottle was quite fresh and i need to try an older version as i think the beer would benefit with more time to mature further, even so an enjoyable beer.

Clear copper red beer, lots of chunks floating around under a big aery off-white head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: clearly infected, rotten leafs, sour, rotten fruits. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sour, rotten fruits, bit smoky (?), sugary, dry and dusty. Aftertaste: dusty, some smoke again?, rotten fruits, sourish. Really bad stuff.

The bouquet was full of apricot, fig and molasses. The flavor mirrored that, full of middle eastern spices, honey and pistachio. The palate a little chewy up front and then watery in the finish. I thought this was really awesome!
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Noctilucus (97) - All over Belgium, BELGIUM - AUG 24, 2012
Gusher! Amber/orange, almost copper colour with long lasting medium-thick foam.
Not such a strong smell but it’s quite typical for this kind of amber ales; some lemon and light spices, a bit of malt too. Unfortunately that lemon touch always reminds me of detergent...
Medium carbonation, just the right amount; pretty full taste as of the first sip, with accordingly full mouthfeel. The taste is quite similar to the smell: malt, something coriander-like, reasonably bitter but not too much as there’s some tempering caramel subtly underneath. The attack borders on sourness, the aftertaste is at the same time more mellow/balanced and more bitter. Both taste and aftertaste are quite strong, especially for a 7% beer, the spices probably help in that aspect.
Once it warms a little, the alcohol takes a more prominent place.
Not my favourity type of beer and little that makes it stand out from the crowd, but in its style it’s a good and solid example.
I prefer it when it’s less cool, giving it a fuller, less sharp taste.
