750 ml bottle poured a hazy golden yellow with a lasting off white head. Aromas of cereal, banana and spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of banana, bread, spice and light straw with a smooth lingering banana finish.

Looks more copper than really blonde; clear except for a few floaters that mar the looks of the beer; dense foam that doesn’t seem to stay long The nose is pleasant but not all that interesting, mostly grains with some sugar underneath The taste itself is quite strong, again those grains surfacing, a decent bit of alcoholic warmth -especially for an 8% beer- and sufficient hops bitterness to avoid becoming sweet. A full and pleasant taste. Overall it’s a solid, full-bodied and strong tasting blonde with more punch than its 8% ABV would lead to expect. Too bad there’s these ever-present floaters...

[Bottle] Pours deep amber with a nice white head which leaves great lacing. Aroma is...wow, smells exactly like orange juice and Sprite mixed together immediately after pouring. After letting it sit, it becomes much more dessert-like with caramel and toffee. Really nice. Taste is not quite as good, but still enjoyable. Big yeast presence even before the yeast pour, with banana, notes of apple, alcohol, some doughiness and a vague fruitiness which is hard to peg (red grape?). Although the taste doesn’t make it stand out, I did enjoy it. Mouthfeel is great--very smooth and creamy, with an average length finish. Overall, this falls short of the Ultrabrune, but is still a very solid beer.

Note, after pouring the bottom of the bottle, this beer took a dramatic turn for the worse. Dusty and metallic scents appeared in the aroma, and the taste became muddled and unappealing. One of the more dramatic changes for the worse I have seen in a beer after the yeast pour.
