bottle, nice chestnut brown color, thick creamy light brown foam, quite inviting. aroma is dominated by alcohol notes, spice cookies made from cinnemon, cane sugar with a touch of melasse, a little sweet liquorize lies over it all, hmm yammie. Flavor reminds me of chrismas cookies again, it´s just the liquorize that turned into anis, juicy dates join into the dance and gentle raisin notes great from above. the palate is initially quite sweet, full and chewy, while the finish is balanced by earthy hop notes to an almost perfect balance. another sip just to starts this trip all over hmm

Clear dark red brown color with a large, frothy, good lancing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, fruity - dark berryes, moderate to light heavy yeasty, spicy - clove. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, and a spicy burn finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to lively. It’s a bit to spicy IMO. 33cl, with spices, from De Hopduvel Gent, not balanced, hazy, good head, nice brew

Bottle (11.2oz) shared with and courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a murky dark amber-brown with an average size beige head. Aroma of dark fruit, brown sugar, alcohol, caramel malt and spices -- not bad actually. Flavour’s malty and fruity, sweet and sticky, with brown sugar, burnt caramel and alcohol and hops in the finish. Medium bodied. Sticky mouthfeel. Pretty good, I enjoyed it.

A clear dark brown ale with a thick light moka head, receding. Aroma of dark plums, cinnamon hearts and caramel. In mouth, cinnamon is very pronounced with a very sweet malt, clove notes, almost close to a coca-cola. A bit too sweet for me. Bieropholie imports. BB 20/12/11
