3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 29, 2011 Bottled. Copper-red, with a medium-sized, creamy beige head. Lots of floaties. It has a malty and sweet aroma with some ginger and cardamom. Tastes spicey and sweet malt. The finish is sweet, with some well hidden bitterness, I think it is in generally too sweet, but nice anyway. Rating: 7-4-7-3-14-3.5. 060513
Bottle, 33cl. A clear, brown beer wtih a dense, beige head. Spiced nose, ginger mostly, with caramel, alcohol, dried fruits and cardamom. Spices and caramel does most of the flavor job, but has some company of dried fruits. Full-bodied and with a nice carbonation level. A quite nice beer, but too spice focused I think. 110311

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottled) Very dark, reddish brown color with a medium, beige, foamy and lacy head. Dried-fruity, quite tart and sweetish aroma with oaky hints. Very sweet flavor of dried fruit, cardamom, burned sugar, and lots of roasted malt. Slight woody tartness in the background. Quite full-bodied, syrupy and smooth, slightly foamy palate. Strangely tart and pleasant, yet cloyingly sweet - to the extent that it’s not that enjoyable anymore. With half the sugar this could be very interesting. Sad, really - I still like the brewery!

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled bought at The Green Man Stamford. A deep brown coloured beer with a nice off white head. The aroma is sugary with malt and a little fruit. The taste is really nice with lots of candy sugar, malts and alcohol. There is a real smooth consistency to the beer which adds to the fact it is very tasty and full bodied.
