Tap - Westgate JDW, Canterbury - We started the night off with a pint of this each, which turned out to be half a pint too much for us all. That being said, this wasn’t an awful beer. It poured a bright pinkish red with small pink clusters of carbonation. The aroma was quite overwhelming; of an artificial cherry and raspberry combination. The flavours - of cherry, raspberry, bubblegum and hints of strawberry - began pleasant and refreshing, but a third into the beer they began to get overly sweet and cloying, with the syrupy texture of the body becoming too much. The finish was short and marginally sour. Too reminiscent of alcopops for my liking, but acceptable in small doses perhaps.

On tap as part of the JDW beer festival, Lloyds No 1 Bristol 16/11/07. Murky red brown colour with a slight tan head. Aroma of sweet strawberry with some other fruit lurking in the background. Flavour started with more strawberries, before raspberries and a hint of blackcurrant followed. Sweet in the main with a hint of Belgian sourness. Odd.

Bottle, 33 cl. Slightly hazy amberbrown, with small pinkish shine off-white head. Aroma sypupy raspberry. Medium body. Taste strong raspberry, syrupy,
sweet bit sticky. Aftertaste little hops, and raspberry.

On tap at a Wetherspoons. Red brown with pink head. Perfumed, false aroma, extremely sweet sticky marzipan flavour. Almost undrinkable. Yuk, Yuk, Yuk.

Darker reddish coloured beer with little carbonation and a small white-pinkish head. Sirup sweet fruity, raspberry aroma. Medium sweeter palate. Finish is sweet fruity with a slightly sour touch. Medium one.

BottleL Poured a hazy reddish brown with a thin off white color head. The aroma is raspberry but also has a fruit bubble gum type of smell. Sweet raspberry fruit that finishes with a tangy malt flavor. I’ve tried a lot of fruit beers and this is very interesting on the palate.

Bottle. Pours a nice red-amber colour with a fizzy short lasting head. Sweet raspberry aroma with candy. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet, sour and very fruity with raspberries and cherries. Fruity well lasting finish.

Bottle @ OL i Aarhus. Pours a muddy brown with a small off-white film head. Aroma is heavy of raspberries, sweetness and some underlying caramel. Mouthfeel is sugary sticky, but still a little thin on the ground. Flavour is equally sweet, fruity with a slight sourness at the end - had they pronounced this sourness, the beer would have been much better. Slightly dry at the far end.

Bottle (330ml). Via trade with Boutip. Deep clear mahogany pour, large fizzy off-white head. Smells ... my cerebellum is insisting this smells a lot like flavoured liquid medicine I had to take as a kid - to make it taste "better" - sugary, medicinal, fake raspberry/cherry syrup. The taste isn’t as bad, way too sweet, but the medicinal aspect is missing - tastes like concentrated Lola juice (Jubley to you Brits), but it’s so fake, like a stale candy in the aftertaste. Good carbonation, fairly syrupy mouthfeel, but oh, my, that nasty aftertaste.
