COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Axe Handle Pale Ale is a “West-coast” pale ale. Hopped during the boil and “dry hopped” after fermentation, the flavor and aroma come from the Cascade hops. This ale finishes with a firm bitterness and malt aftertaste.

Tried this on tap at the GABF in Denver, CO. Citrusy floral hoppy aroma. Citrus hoppy flavor with a bitter malty finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle:   Amber with golden tint, lots of sediment as the bottle winds down, large frothy white head, fairly nice lacing.   Very soft hop nose, a touch pithy.   Getting a little bit of that Cascade hop profile towards the back of this beer.   Decent maltiness, fairly clean.   Comes across as a softer Pale Ale. &nbps Not as hoppy as other PNW examples, but as is very enjoyable and solid.   Thanks for the bottle Bill!

Hazed almost orange with creamy white head and lace. Aroma of caramel malt and citrusy hops. Caramel malt, bread, and some resiny/citrus hop bitter. Light/medium bodied with good carbonation.

Half pint at the Lake Travis location. Had this immediately after having a bite of bbq with jabanero sauce so who knows? Clear and golden with a small off white head. Soft hops and heavier malts define this. Floral hops and citrus. Fruit comes out more as it warms (or as the sauce clears). This is dry and fairly bitter.

Not too bad, there was a lot of hops that I was surprised about. Not the worst pale ale..

Pours a reddish color with a medium sized off white foamy head. Notes of pink grapefruit, karo syrup, toast, brown sugar, and sour patch kids. This is a hedonistic west coast IPA. Decent balance too.
