COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Axe Handle Pale Ale is a “West-coast” pale ale. Hopped during the boil and “dry hopped” after fermentation, the flavor and aroma come from the Cascade hops. This ale finishes with a firm bitterness and malt aftertaste.

Not too bad, there was a lot of hops that I was surprised about. Not the worst pale ale..

Pours a reddish color with a medium sized off white foamy head. Notes of pink grapefruit, karo syrup, toast, brown sugar, and sour patch kids. This is a hedonistic west coast IPA. Decent balance too.

GABF 2010, decent APA. copper amber pour. medium bitterness, citrusy hops present in both the aroma & flavor. medium mouthfeel. would love to go to Austin & enjoy a nice, unpalate wrecked pint & decide again

Had on draft at the brewpub. Served in a pint glass. Pours a little dark for a pale; amber in color with an inch or so of frothy head. Smells of passionfruit, apricots and citrus.......... possibly from Simcoe or Cascade hops. Tastes of caramel and sweet malt. A growler of this very enjoyable beer was taken for a nightcap. Well done, Amos!

The beer pours a hazy yellow-orange color with a white head. The aroma is very fruity with a lot of citrus notes. The flavor is orange, grapefruit and bread. The flavor is very juicy. Low to medium bitterness. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice hoppy American Pale Ale.

Latest incarnation is delicious. I think Brian has "figured out" the pale ale style. Well balanced with bittering, flavor and aroma hops. This batch has a fruity, orange flavor with it. Delicious.

(Draught) Pours a lightly hazy orange body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of pine, grass, and some citrus. Flavor of hops (grass, herbal, pine, light citrus) and caramel malt with a moderately bitter finish.

Tap at the brewpoub. Hazy range pour with small off white head. Aroma is citrusy, pine, great nose for an APA. Flavor is slightly bitter, pine, grassy, and soap. Bubbly mouthfeel.

Haze free amber color with a good head that provides adequate lacing. Up-front grape fruit presence - simcoe? Nice, not too over the top bitterness with a solid malt backbone to support. Perhaps resides somewhere between an APA and an IPA - still very enjoyable.
