(Draught, thanks to the guys at Uncle Billy’s) espresso brown with thick dark tan head. Nose of bourbon, big barrel presence, caramel, vanilla, graham cracker, so complex and rich. Taste of bourbon, rich medium chocolate, rich caramel, vanilla, decadent and awesome. One of the best beers to ever come out of Texas.

tap at the brewpub. pitch black with a cream head. nose is wood, vanilla, bourbon, and chocolate. great on the palate, wood, chocolate, heavy roasted malts, light alcohol, faint vanilla finish.

(Draught) Pours an opaque black body with a medium tan head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, vanilla, roasted malt, and chocolate. Flavor of bourbon, oak, vanilla, and chocolate.

On tap at the brewpub during the Ratebeer Winter Gathering.
The beer pours a very dark brown to black color with a dark brown head. The aroma of this beer is absolutely amazing. I get a ton of chocolate and roasted malts with a little bit of oak and bourbon mixed in. I could smell this beer all day long.
The flavor is just as good as the aroma. The dominant notes are the chocolate, roasted malt and a little bit of coffee, but they are complimented very nicely by all of the barrel-aged characteristics - vanilla, oak and bourbon. The barrel aging is somewhat subtle but definitely adds to the overall flavor of the beer.
Thick mouthfeel and low to medium carbonation.
This is an extremely well done barrel-aged beer. Hopefully they make this one again.

Black with a medium sized tan head and some lacing. Aroma and tasted of rich chocolate, roasted malts, bourbon, woody and vanilla. Very nicely done, great.

On tap at Uncle Billy’s at RBWG 2012. Pours a dark brown with medium tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is chocolate and roast aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a oak and roast with a lingering dry finish. Wow really enjoyed this one. A very impressive Imperial stout from Uncle Billys.

2/25/12. On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2012. Nice opaque black pour with a nice brown head that sticks. Nice smooth barrel character - a touch of bourbon, but lots of fudge, coconut, vanilla, as well as a touch of coffee. Very nice flavor as well with more barrel character - sweet vanilla and bourbon/wood - as well as nice chocolate, roast, and more. Very nice!
