lb4lb (1339), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 22, 2008 What can I say, I love the super unfiltered look and feel of the Uncle Billy’s Beers. This pours a bright, super hazy and dense orange color with a nice white head. Like orange juice with foam. Smell is very wheaty and hearty with not much spicing or other influences. Taste is very strongly wheaty and with a touch of orange peel citrus like flavor as well, but not much. Didn’t get any spiciness from the yeast really either, which I actually prefer. Very much like their hefeweizen in fact, which I quite enjoyed. This is extremely drinkable, refreshing and strongly wheaty. Great for the hot Austin summer days. fly (1238), austin, Tejas, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pretty easy going and fairly tasty, which I imagine is the point. Not exactly one I tend to go for whn Brian has made so many good variations on hoppy ales. I’m stupid, so when presented with the option to drink something refreshing on a super hot Texas summer day, I head for AC and order what I like. kidmartinek (704), austin, Texas, USA Jul 19, 2008 Looks like very cloudy pale yellow and deep orange juice colored brew with a very small head It leaves no laving. The appearance and color look like pure refreshment. The aroma is a mix of light yeast, mineral, wheat, wood and citrus. The flavor is like a great hefeweizen with acidic wheat malt, other citrus fruits and earthen elements. The beer is short and fizzy with a medium /light body. Very enjoyable, clean finish. Top notch. Bockyhorsey (1951), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 29, 2008 Sampled @ Uncle Billys BrewCue. Aroma and flavor were viturally the same. Sour zesty lemon, little soapy flavor as well. Hazy yellow body with white head. Thin body easy on the palate if you like lemon juice.
