Black appearance. Tingy tan head. Good coffee aroma and iced coffee taste. Very strong and clean tasting. The only way you can tell its a beer is because it finishes pretty bitter.

Dark look, black in color, and has a tan colored head. The smell is coffee, malts, burnt, roast, and dark chocolate. The taste is really roasty, coffee, dark chocolate, malts, and good.

Tap at UBís. I love this beer and make an effort to get it whenever itís available. This particular batch apparently sat on coffee beans for 5 days instead of the normal 2, so itís extra-coffeeíd. Itís black in the glass with a nice foamy head in a rich medium-brown. The nose is very heavy on the espresso, along with caramel and toasted malt tones. The flavor opens with a punch of woody, rich espresso, balanced by a nice sweet malt backbone. The really nice thing about this beer is that the coffee smells and tastes really fresh - Iíve encountered other beers, most particularly Beer Geek Breakfast, that just smell like old used coffee beans. No doubt in my mind that this is a coffee loverís beer, and I love me some coffee. Iíll happily say that this is the best coffee stout Iíve had. Itís also one of the best beers produced in Austin, so you should definitely check and see if itís available when youíre there.

As a side note, I wouldnít call it a summer seasonal - itís available whenever UBís fits it into their special tap schedule, which is probably about once every 2 months or so.

On tap. Pours a black brown color with a small light brown foamy head. Notes of chocolate, coffee grounds, smoke, and fudge. Thinner mouthfeel but silky.

(Growler thanks to blutt59) near black pour with creamy medium tan head and excellent lacing. Nose of good coffee, chocolate syrup, dry cocoa. Taste of bittersweet coffee, cream, and fudge. Very creamy body with nice coffee linger. One of the best beers to come out of Uncle Billyís yet.

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this growler. The beer pours dark brown to black with a tan head. The aroma is strong coffee with not too much else. The flavor is a mix of strong black coffee, some chocolate and some roasted malt. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very good coffee beer.

Growler thanks to blutt59. Pours with a large tan head with a near black body. Aroma of nice and strong and fresh coffee, spicy. Really fresh and roasty smelling. Taste is not as strong coffee. But nice and bitter roast.
