Crystal clear, very dark ale with burnt orange highlights. Small, creamy, off-white head. The nose is wonderful. Full of milk chocolate, smoke and rich, bitter, sludgy espresso. The flavor pretty much matches the aroma with additional notes of caramel and vanilla. Perfectly balanced. Medium-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, burnt, slightly tart and finally dry finish.
