Tried to pour this from the can into an English pint... Foam started gushing from the can before I could even get it over the glass, and then I proceeded to slowly pour a glass of foam. After about five minutes I finally got most of the beer in the glass, while still maintaining an epic head. The end result is a reddish brown beer with a thick tan head. Aroma is sweet grainy malt with not much else going on - but I can’t expect much would penetrate the dense foam. Initial flavor is quite metallic, and then turns into some alcohol. There is a smoky finish with a touch of chocolate, but no real bacon flavor. Medium bodied and overly carbonated. Besides waiting out the foam, the carbonation competes with and overwhelms the smokiness. Certainly drinkable, but I was pretty underwhelmed.

Dark reddy amber body with short lasting head. Burnt notes slightly overshadow the caramel and maple syrup.

500ml can. All foam this one as it starts off with a mountain of thick brown foam that takes awhile to sette. Hiding underneath the foam is a rather tasty beer.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Leafs93 (1370) - Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 8, 2012
Pours brown with an off white head. Aroma is smoke, nutty, and roast. Taste is sweet with light acidic tartness. Smooth with an almost oily texture. Was expecting some notes of bacon but not much of anything came through, more of a standard brown.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 dimenhetfield (2354) - , Florida, USA - AUG 4, 2012
Sampled at EBF. Very much like your typical browns but with just a hint of smoky character. Doesn’t really overpower the flavor too much, you still get the nutty malty flavors from the beer, which is always good.

Enjoyed from can while hanging out at the roof top at Fountainhead in Chicago, IL on my birthday. I didn’t take tasting notes for this one, but I remember being completely unimpressed. At one point I got a pure gulp of sodium, maybe my worst beer drinking experience so far. Not the worst beer ever, but not really too good and Rogue’s bacon beer was hands down much better than this one.
