COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s a simple fact of life: bacon makes everything better. From eggs to ice cream, delicious bacon is turning up just about everywhere, Our uncommon contribution to this cured pork renaissance is the Bacon Brown Ale. This is a West Coast Nut Brown Ale brewed with toasted buckwheat and a generous serving of bacon-cured pork.

Aroma is sweet and malty with hints of solvent – feels like a bad doppelbock. Flavour is dry with berries and malt. Also hints of solvent and contamination with lactic acid. Where is the bacon?

lusikka (4124) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 11, 2012
Draught @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012.
Pours a reddish brown colour with a thick white head. Aroma of toasted malts, nuts and some spices. Flavour of strong maltiness, nuts, spices, harsh hops and some fruits. Medium bodied, rough malty mouthfeel and a harsh, malty bitter finish. Not very balanced.

Pours clear copper color with small head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts and sourish dark berries. Flavour of biscuits, dark berries, mild caramel malts and some spices. Weird.

Aroma of malty goodness with dark fruits and a hint of anis. Taste is pleasant with roast wheat, dark fruit and just a small hint of iron. Far less Bacon than I anticipated.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2012 Poured into an English pint from a 16 ounce can canned on 2-22-2012.

A: Beautiful clear mahogany body with a towering tan head that forms a plateau as the sides disappear. This is how beer should look.

S: Very much lacking, very bland with mild nuts and very slight salty pork come through but this is lacking so very much. I’m very disappointed.

T: Like the aroma, I am extremely disappointed. Very slight cured pork flavor at the end with a slightly salty mid-taste, nuts take over the rest.

M: Medium bodied, tastes flat.

O: This is a highly disappointing beer, I was expecting more pork flavor but this, or more flavor in general. This beer looks better than it tastes.

Arôme de shampoing, cassonade et de fleurs, j’ai l’impression d’être au jardin botanique. En bouche c’est un mince marais de sucre sans intérêts.

I thought I was going to be enjoying this with breakfast. The aroma made me think so. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to find a beer that  had more going for it. The flavor was that of a well made ale and the smokyness of bacon. Rest assured I liked what I tasted and I was not disappointed.

Pint on tap pours hazy brown with a good head. Aromas of slightly smoked malt some grassy piney notes and a bit of sweet malt. Flavor is bitter can only taste a very light presence of bacon.at the end kind of disappointing but the rest of the beer stands strong. Body is medium and finish is bitter leaving only a hint if pig

PotjeBier (1019) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 6, 2012
On tap @ Beer Temple. Brown color, head is beige. Aroma’s of sweet malts, dark fruit, berries, maybe a hint of ash (might have been the smoker next to me who had just come in after a smoke). Flavor is lightly sweetish, fruity, with a starting bitterness. Medium body. Finishes eventually quite bitter, which saves this beer (not a fan on brown).
