16 oz can. Pours brown with a huge yellow head. Aromas of malts, dark fruit, and maybe a hint of smoke. Flavors of malts and salty nuts, and again maybe a hint of smoke. Other than the salt and smoke I couldn’t pull bacon. OK for a Nut Brown.

Big beige head. Clear deep dark red body. Fruity earthy odd aroma.
Sweet fruity wild berry taste with smoky roasty notes. Full-bodied.
Mild, soft, slightly flat mouthfeel. Sweetish fruity herbal wild
berry aftertaste with perfumy candy notes. It’s really odd, but also
quite nice. (0.564l can, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

50cl can. I am a vegetarian, but also a ticker... ;-)
clear brown, smooth light brown head.
aroma is malts, faint mild hops and perhaps a slightly salty note.
flavor is malts, almost no hops, ends also malty, very typical brown ale flavor i’d say. The only thing slightly indicating bacon added is a glue like palate, like the fat on meat. I can usually detect meat in quite small doses, only the palate gives the beer away. schlenkerla tastes lots more like meat than this one, and schelnkerla is even vegetarian.

On tap at Bøker & Børst, Stavanger. Pours clear dark brown, small creamy beige head.Aroma is sweet malty with a whiff of flower, more specific rose. Taste is sweet, bordering cloying, fat and sugary mouthfeel, almost no traces of bacon or smoke, mediocre beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
16 ounce can. Pours a mostly clear dark red brown color with a small white head. A nice smooth coffee and chocolate toast nose. The flavor is berries, toast, light smoke, fruity hops. Very flavorful and smooth. Nice. I love me some hoppy brown ales, and pork is a bonus.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can. Pours a mostly clear very dark brown color with a moderate tan head on there. Nose has hints of roasting and toasting, and a bit of caramel underneath. Taste is toasty and has just a hint of bacon, though I wouldn’t have guessed based on flavor alone. Not bad.
