3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 beerguy101 (5206) - Newark, California, USA - JUL 24, 2012Tasted 3/9/2012. This brown ale pours a medium to dark brown color from a 16oz. can. Medium sized beige/tan head with decent retention. The aroma is malty, caramel, maple and sweet. A medium bodied brown ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet, with a touch of maple and perhaps some bacon. The hops are earthy and herbal. Decent carbonation. Touch of nuttiness. Touch of bacon at the finish. Not sure what I was expecting and not sure that this is it. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Cloudy orange with tiny white head. Nose is sweet hay/grass and light malt. Taste is sweet malt and tart funk behind. There’s no bacon! Somebody bring home the bacon!
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 riversideAK (5458) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Nose of toasted and roasted malts, subtle salty smokey notes, a little herbal hop notes. Pours muddy brown, thin off white head and lace. Flavors of nutty roasted and toasted malts, fairly standard brown, a little hay dusty notes, very soft salty and smokey bacon notes. Decent carbonation, a little sharpness in the finish. Not unpleasant.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Rob_D_UK (229) - Surrey, ENGLAND - MAY 11, 2013
Pours a light hazy woody copper brown with a thinning head to a film. Aroma is solvent, plastic phenolics, grass, slight smoke, and burnt notes- maybe a hitn of bacon, but it is messy and overkill with solvent and spice. Flavor is nutty, earthy, toast, light smoke, more plastic, phenol solvent, earth and a slick oily plastic and leather finish
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 solidfunk (1919) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 8, 2013
Pours ok - brown with decent head and lacing, but smells like tin initially. Tastes with light hops but even that’s a stretch. Leave is sour with little bitterness. Lively carbonation. Another average brown ale. Tall can from the Strath in Victoria.

Bacon brown-amber body with a caramel-brown thin head, fed by lazy, but steady, carbonation. Wonderful amber malt nose with a unique, if undiscernable character that is at once both mysterious, and enticing. Candi juicy fruit flavors dominated the palate and clash with the quite different olfactory experience. Some bacon smoke on the finish, albeit a very subtle touch. Pretty understated for a "bacon" beer.

16oz can pours a hazy caramel brown with some frothy, white head. Aroma makes it obvious... infection. Smells dusty, like an old couch and not much else. Flavor is sweet, malty, dusty, not too much happening. Watery finish. Way off.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co. showing a bright & clear brown tone, modest, bubbly, soft white head foam that diminished rapidly to a ring & film, and left some dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was mild, with light grain/wheat, some toastiness, and a touch of caramel. Less than medium bodied, a little watery, with low peppery bitterness, weak malt taste, and no noticeable bacon or smoked hints imo, even after a decent warming period. Bacon was the hook, but it didn’t deliver. Very average Brown.

Can brought back from California by a generous friend. Pours a true brown with lots of carbonation and a very very very light brown head that is massive. Loads of clumpy lacing. Nose is sweet light malt. Brown sugar. Tastes sweet, malty, bitter, alcohol. A touch of smoke.

Pours a hazy chestnut/ruby color with a huge tan head..very nice retention and lacing. Aroma has mild dark fruits, nuts, and bread. Flavor has very mild smoke but mostly like a fruit and nut bread with a touch of caramel. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is slightly fruity and earthy/bitter. Wheres the bacon!?
