16 oz can. Dense black with one finger tan head. Aroma malt, licorice and roast. taste similar to aroma. Palate thinner than most Baltics Iíve tried. Roasty finish.
Essentially none of the sweetness I generally associate with this style. Iíd describe it as a roasty porter with some licorice. Just OK

16 ounce can from 41st street Liquor in Capitola. A great price at $2.25. Enjoyable brew with a nice chocolate and black licorice flavor. I want to try more beers from this brewery.

16oz can, uncommon is a good name for them, they are doing some oddball additions to their beers, most of them work pretty well and this is no exception, though I donít feel the addition gains much. Slightly smoky flavor with a decent anise punch that black licorice taste lingers and holds on.. not bad

Smooth tasting, foamy porter with an interesting licorice-like note to it; something herbal, too, perhaps. I like it! Very nice!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Visual: Good visual of the licorice plant and star anise on the front, as well as a decent description of the beer itself. Pours jet black with a large lasting cream-foamy head, CO2 activity at the surface.
Nose: Roasted coffee and thick sweet malts; (8/10-aroma strength)
Attack: tingly-fizzy-creamy mouthfeel
Mid-palate: roasted coffee syrup, 7/10-sweet caramel, licorice
Finish: fizziness, hints of cola (star anise), malty phlegm, mild coffee sourness, medium-deep roast coffee bitter finish.
Summary: This beer dispels my belief that no good beer comes out of a can; on the contrary, this Baltic Porter has good depth, decent complexity, good length and pleasant smoothness. The sourness grows as it warms up however. Recommended at least 1x.

Can (16 oz). From dresden, thanks! Black with a medium tan head, ok retention and little lacing. Aroma if of roasted malt, liquorice, milk chocolate and ashes. Taste is moderately sweet with roasted malt, liquorice, milk chocolate, ashes, lactose and vanilla. Medium body. Silky mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. Good balance. Nice Baltic Porter!

Poured black with a beige head. Aroma of sweet vanilla bourbon, caramel malt. Medium to full body, flavour of the aroma, seems more a standard stout than a Baltic Porter. Still very nice.
