On tap @ Crowbar. A deep dark black beer and the head is quickly gone. It had a lovely color when it stuck around though, deep dark brown in color. On the nose it’s quite lovely to be honest. Really packed with dark, sweet flavors. Some boozy thing also, lots of dark Belgian chocolate, a ton of liquefied licorice, and even a little bit of vanilla! Oh yeah, it’s a flavor bomb. Of dimensions may I add. As dark roasted as they come with a ton of dry 80%cocoa powder. Dammit. It’s like chewing on a chocolate bar that has been added something slightly acidic and vanillaish. The licorice is just extreme to the max. Warming dark aftertaste that’s refusing to let go. A thick and chewy mouthfeel with a prickling carbonation level. Lovely stuff 25.05.2013

Quite a herbal/floral aroma. Taste of sweet chocolate and coffee with slight bitter after taste, a very distinct beer. Well done.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Inbreak (242) - Loddefjord, NORWAY - MAY 27, 2013
24.05.2013, tap @ Crowbar:
Nice brown creamy head. Aroma is rich, lots of salty licorice, caramel, coffee, grass, dark sugar. Taste is dry, strong rawlicorice, grass, cocoa, coffee, dark berries. Longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Damn good heavy shit, but a small taster is more than enough.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 solidfunk (1918) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 14, 2013
Pretty damn good, actually. Pours black with mocha head and some lacing. Smells of heavy roast malt - very robust aromas of coffee as well. The anise flavours are light here but then again the last beer I had was basically a twizzler bomb. Palate finishes on the light side with a little bitterness. Soft carbonation. Creamy texture. Tall can from Strathcona Liquor in Victoria.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jado (277) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - MAY 12, 2013
From 500 ml can, it pours a solid black with a thin tan head. Carbonation is very lively - more like a soda than a beer esp a porter. Aromas of aniseed, sarsparilla, roasted malt, and a touch of smoke. The taste is much the same, with aniseed definitely to the fore, though some black coffee also comes through. There’s a bit of a mineral character at the end, probably due to the carbonation. Quite a clean finish. Not bad, but a bit weird, and I’m not sure it all works together.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 NikkTwist (964) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 24, 2013
Draft at Farmers Cabinet. Thick black ruby pour with a slim foamy tan head. Easy drinking but quite complex. Rich chewy dark. Burnt chocolate covered raisins. Chocolate molasses. Juicy black notes. Black jelly beans. Thick and deep. Not really similar to other Baltic Porters Ive had but very nice.

Can shared thanks to Tim and Rachel! Pours a translucent brownish black with thin off-white head that sticks nicely. Aroma is toasted malt and soy, taste is like a soy flavored colds with a touch of coffee. Was expecting a bit more, not bad but not great. Almost has a Belgian yeast flavor.

Thanks Tim and Rachel! Cola pour with a frothy white head. Aroma of dry light roasted malts and and brown sugar. Flavor is very cola like with touches of vanilla and spice. Fairly bland and one dimensional.
