Really janked up can. Someone must have dropped it. The bottle shop owner didnít charge me for it, which is good because I thought I already rated it. Good karma. Rich honey and lemon nose. Cloudy amber, headless. Much less prominent honey flavor, applecore. A surge of dandelion, sudden but neither strong nor distinct. Raw potato finish. Despite the can being compromised, there was still carbonation, soft and unseen. Sessionable and unique.

Tap at Crafty Crow, Nottingham. Hazy gold. Film of white head. Ripe banana. Clove. Light toffee. Taste is light sweet, turning dry. Light chew on the palate, but feels clean. Finish is dry, with a light bitterness.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a murky, dark honey-golden color with a short-lived white head with a greenish hue. Green grape nose. Full mouthfeel that ends up feeling a little dry. Pickled corn that starts out mildly sweet but gets funky toward the finish.

Rated fr0m a can-full... p0ured int0 a glass, 0f c0urse. It had a slightly hazed yell0w b0dy with 0range tints, plenty 0f fast m0ving bubbles, and a m0dest (but sustained) creamy head. The ar0ma was faint - h0ney, grain, lem0n... kind 0f t0nicy. The flav0r, t00, was light - mildly sweet grain, a dash 0f lem0n, and a very mild earth and zest bitterness. Iím n0t really sure what the p0ppy added, but itís n0t a bad warm weather (0r s0 Iím imagining, in this p0lar Chicag0 Winter) brew.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
16 oz can into a Duvel tulip. Pours hazy but rich golden with a dense and creamy white head. Nose is fruity/lemoncit, Belgian yeast, Belgian hops. Taste is sweet, strongly peppery/spicy with very nice floral hops, dries out somewhat but not before the rush of sweetness ushers in strong vanilla and lemon. Strong carbonation gives great bite, yeast is itself delicious, and the meringue/Orval head is always appreciated. Clean, medium body with a slight tang. Refreshing; I want more of this for the summer, this one has zing!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: medium honey-gold, with tons of tiny brown specks floating, suspension-like, throughout; a short, quickly fading bubbly white head; the appearance does not inspire confidence. Aroma: sweet and a little spicy on the nose, with notes of honey, a hint of clove and yeast, and some definite poppy undertones. Taste: excellent--honey, light graham cracker, lemon zest, poppy seeds, dry grass, and hay. Finish: slight zingy tingle and lingering sweet yeast, with a hint of funk coming through. Notes: This actually tasted a bit like Grandmaís lemon poppy seed bread, one of my all time favorite treats. Refreshing and light palate. Quite good, except for the rather unappetizing appearance.

Serving: 16 oz. can from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a deep gold color with a small white head. The nose is very floral. The flavor has a light, malty sweetness to go with those floral hops. Light to medium body with a medium finish. I canít say I got anything from the poppy seeds. Good brew for a hot day.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Visual: Consistent artwork with their other Baltic Porter, the can features a drawing of the yellow poppy flower. Pours translucent golden orange with a decent-sized lasting foamy head, lots of activity and lacing.
Nose: sweet hoppy malts with some chamomile undertones
Attack: very cream-to-fizzy mouthfeel, 5/10-sweetness
Mid-palate: bitter yet clean poppy seed, honeyed malts, hints of PEACH, RED APPLE
Finish: crisp bitter bite, mellow hops, light sweet-bitter tingly malty finish.
Summary: Another good beer from Uncommon Brewers. This one is much lighter on the palate than the Baltic Porter and is balanced from start to finish, first sip to the last. Though not particularly complex or rich, it is quite drinkable.
