3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled on 1/1/2012. This Belgian ale pours a slightly cloudy medium orange color from a 16oz can. Medium sized white foamy head with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity and sweet, peaches and apricots, some apples. A medium to light bodied Belgian style ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. Not sue I notice the poppy seeds, except perhaps a touch of herbal bitterness. A light and refreshing beer, that is very easy to drink. There is a touch of dryness at the finish. Would make a nice summer beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, dry and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500mL bottle, pours a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma of poppy seeds, sort of a coconut-y note, bready malts and floral hops. Flavour of poppy seeds upfront, that same coconut-like note, sweet bready malts and feint hops. Nice touch with the poppy seeds, but nothing remarkable here.

Pours bright gold into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Sweet and sour honey aromas. Thin and sweet with grass and sour honey front to back.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Schouskjelleren.
Clear gold, Beligan yeast aroma.
Farily typical Belgian blond. The yeast character is there, sugar/honey, bitterness bordering on sourness in the background. Hard to do this better than Duvel.

3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Super frothy pour! 4 parts foam to 1 part liquid, and the glass gets well-laced. Fairly skanky aroma unfortunately, with a bit of floral scent. Pretty intense golden ale taste - it i hard to pick out the poppy seeds (pun intended), but there is clearly something interesting going on here. This could have some wheat in it. There is a bittersweet flavor and a dash of lemon peel in a flavorful medium weight ale. Good.
