COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a Belgian-style double brewed with a traditional coriander, and an uncommon addition of kaffir lime and lemongrass. An amber body, rich, flavorful, absolutely delicious, and entirely too drinkable for a beer that’s 8.5% ABV.

16oz bottle - Aroma - dusty, malty, some raisins and coriander present, touch of spices. Appearance - copper body, 1-finger white head, average retention, no lacing Mouthfeel - medium bodied, light-medium carbonation Flavor - light raisin, some lime and coriander, yeast and light roasted malts. Overall - an interesting beer with some interesting ingredients. Easy to enjoy at this price so it gets a point for that. Another good beer from Uncommon.

this would be a very nice thai food beer. one of the more interesting beers of the night. fruity, estery aroma with a hint of earthy grassiness at the end. a touch of lemon in the aroma and flavor which would be a mistake in some beers, but IMO works well here. good body and a hearty malty, yeasty backbone. nice beer."

2014-07-14. Dark amber brown body, large foamy beige head. 3+ Sweet dark malt, light green hops in the aroma. Flavour has rich sweet malt core, light bitterness throughout, moderate alcohol presence. 7+ Smooth average to medium bodied palate. 3+ Decent. Not what I expected. Can from LCBO, Toronto

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours brown with a thin off-white head. Aromas are banana, dark sugar, raisins. Taste brings more banana sweetness. Couldn’t finish the other ingredients. Easy drinking for sure though.

I find it interesting that this beer isn’t at 99%. It’s quite delightful and a perfect example of a well done yet unique dubbel. Belgian style dubbels are a hard category to compete in, with fine Trappist ales as the standard, but this brew holds its own for true dubbel connoisseurs. It’s nicely sweet with floral overtones and a crisp, dry, noble hop finish. Tastes of caramel, raisin, rose and a hint of biscuit. The pour is also nothing to complain about, with a delicate head and deep red hue which is distinctly impenetrable. Something you look for in a good dubbel. The palate is light yet full with a light buttery texture. I will certainly buy this again.
