COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a Belgian-style double brewed with a traditional coriander, and an uncommon addition of kaffir lime and lemongrass. An amber body, rich, flavorful, absolutely delicious, and entirely too drinkable for a beer thatís 8.5% ABV.

50cl can @ Tipu. Messy orangey brown, small lightly tanned head. Nose is coarse molasses, limey dishwashing liquid, solvents and tequila. Flavor is very sweet, some alcohol, glue, lime and darker candi sugar earhy peppery spices, pretty all over. Booze shines through. Nearly medium bodied, soft neutral carbonation. Off-flavors come through when this warm, and I canít see that lime blending in too well with the candi sugar.

2014-07-14. Dark amber brown body, large foamy beige head. 3+ Sweet dark malt, light green hops in the aroma. Flavour has rich sweet malt core, light bitterness throughout, moderate alcohol presence. 7+ Smooth average to medium bodied palate. 3+ Decent. Not what I expected. Can from LCBO, Toronto

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours brown with a thin off-white head. Aromas are banana, dark sugar, raisins. Taste brings more banana sweetness. Couldnít finish the other ingredients. Easy drinking for sure though.

I find it interesting that this beer isnít at 99%. Itís quite delightful and a perfect example of a well done yet unique dubbel. Belgian style dubbels are a hard category to compete in, with fine Trappist ales as the standard, but this brew holds its own for true dubbel connoisseurs. Itís nicely sweet with floral overtones and a crisp, dry, noble hop finish. Tastes of caramel, raisin, rose and a hint of biscuit. The pour is also nothing to complain about, with a delicate head and deep red hue which is distinctly impenetrable. Something you look for in a good dubbel. The palate is light yet full with a light buttery texture. I will certainly buy this again.

Tall Can. Deep caramel brown color, strong fruity and tart aroma. Medium body. Taste is off. Not good.

Cold can. Pours a dirty dark red / brown, slightly sparkling, small white head doesnít last. Aroma of sour caramel, cherry cola, clay. Body is medium, slightly foamy, lowish carbonation. Taste - very sweet caramel (oversweet), slight coffee overtones, spearmint, metallic, soft cherry finish. Alright.

Can. Hazy dark orange. Aroma is sweetly herbal on a barley candy base. Caramel malts support notes of ginger, perfumey citrus (not truly kaffir though), and breakfast tea. No hint of the ABV, but a bit too sweet to be sessionable, at least for me anyway.

Aroma of smoked malts, amber malts, herbs, molasses, citrus and I can smell subtle lime. Amber appearance with decent lace. Nicely blended flavors amber malts, slight metallic tank notes, hop resin, subtle lime notes, cinnamon and herbs. Overall, this is a nice beer with herb and molasses overtones and subtle lime. Donít get the lemongrass or coriander notes as much though. A- rating.

Bottle share at DLD 2013. Pour is deep amber with a quickly disappearing head. Aroma is very much belgian with notes of key lime pie, raspberry, banana, golden raisins, and coriander. Flavor is similar but with more of a spice/vegetable kick at the end. Strange, but good.

Can. Aroma of done sugar candy, citrus. Taste is like a caramel bomb, done lemongrass. This actually could be pretty interesting but not really working.
