COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A beast born out of a double-strength batch of the Siamese Twin Ale. The Sinister falls into that rare category of Belgian-style quadrupels. It remains eerily drinkable at 12.5% ABV.

A little sweet, but not a bad ABT. Similar to a St Bernardus, but with less coriander taste.

GABF 09. Pours a mostly clear deep brownish amber with a thinning head. Aroma is very fruity almost like a strong dubbel- apple, fig, raisin, date, and some apricot- sweet molasses and brown sugar sweetness and some herbs and earth. Flavor is sharp caramel, toast, crystal harshness, sweet brown sugar and candi syrup, a big fusel and high alcohol- earthy zesty and spiced. Finish is a bit harsh.

GABF 2009. Pours clear brown with a small, fizzy off-white head, somewhat diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, cookie, toffee), average hop (herbs, flowers), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of dates, brown sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Long duration, heavy sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

On tap at The Red in Santa Cruz. Pours dark brown with a modest tan head and some wet lacing. Aromas of maple syrup and brown sugar, with slight fruit notes and sweetbread. Flavor is primarily brown sugar sweetness, with some cherry and medicinal notes. Some booziness is evident. Medium full body. Could use more complexity to be honest. Still not bad.
